Hi,
Has anyone heard any rumours about any new 2D versions of Worms in development? That would make my day!

Well, Worms: Armageddon, although it came out in 1999, is continuing to be developed by CyberShadow and DeadCode. And they are planning a fusion of W:A and WWP called Worms: Armageddon 4.0. But that probably won't come out for another two years at least.

There's also been rumours of a new PC worms game going around, it was also confirmed by Spadge himself. (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=587251&postcount=17)
Apart from that, no.
Another teamster said that there will be one coming soon for vista, (i'll die if its only for vista) here. (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=579281&postcount=7)
There will be news about that towards the end of the year and not any sooner.
The end of '07 has been and gone
And the other one might be forged, as it's posted by a new(iush) user

Errr, yeah. Perhaps they decided to change their mind and do it sometime this year or next year? hmmmm?
I can confirm that he wouldn't post that just for no reason at all.

How can you confirm that?

Because he was asking for information about a PC worms game himself, why would you just go ahead copy and paste an email that wasn't even sent?

To trick people. Because, y'know, some people are jerks.

Right. Ask spadge if someone called John Dennis works at Team 17. And then there's your answer to wether its real or not.
EDIT: And if your reply is maybe he's a spy for Team 17, go away.:p
Maybe he edited his reply (so there is someone called John Dennis but he didn't say that)?
Oh and by the way, there is a guy who works here called John Dennis, but I have no idea what John was talking about in that email, so it may well be faked.
On the other hand, it's not as if I know exactly what everyone at the office here is working on so you never know...
i dont know if anyone who makes the games reads thse messages but a great feature in the 3d worms games is that you can collect things to customise you worm, like hats and stuff, it would be a really good thing in a 2d game to be able to design you worm like htat
Several devs (myself included) read the forums when they get a chance. I thought the accessory stuff in Mayhem was a lot of fun and it certainly inspired several forumers too.
By the way, I'm pretty sure John Dennis is real. I spoke to him yesterday and although I didn't actually touch him I did find him quite convincing. I dont think he's an AI, because he's not that good with a bazooka.

He's a manager: check to make sure he isn't a gorilla in a zipper suit!

Then if that email isn't true, then how would that person know John Dennis?
Maybe that person is a spy working undercover for us to get info on what your working on......:D

We wouldn't be able to get any info out of him, since by now our spy would practically live in a local pub in Ossett and never get out of there to tell us.

If you see a guy in a jacket and with the name "Luther" that you can't walk through, there's your man.

hmm... then the most natural source of information on new t17 projects would be the staff of the pub nearest to t17 hq. surely, the t17 guys talk about their work over a pint.
Isn't john Dennis the guy who runs the mclaren F1 Team? oh wait, thats Ron Dennis...
