I may sound like an idiot - but is this how we obtain a user/pass for the UK WormNET?
No. This is for reservations of user names when the new ranking system gets implemented. You actually don't need a secure login, right now. Just type whatever nickname you want in the nickname box and click OK. You don't need a password.

I havnt played Worms online in a few years. I just re-installed the game and can't wait to get back on it.
I miss the good old days where the rankings worked and i had my elite status with my sweet flaming blue bar. There was always a match online wether it be a roper, rope race, regular game, fort, etc. I dunno if it will ever be the same again, but i am hoping it will! :)

Whether or not the initial objective of preregistering everyone for an eventual restoration of WormNET rankings will be successful, I cannot say. However this thread continues, as evidenced by its locking and subsequent unlocking, to reflect the collective aspiration of the WormNET community to once again enjoy those rankings and monthly competitions, and in that respect it is already successful and continues to be. I for one, am eager to again register my 'tHEkiNgPin', and 'oscillator' accounts on WormNET, but am not simply content with just saying so in this post. As Team17 is considering laying off the Worms franchise for a little while, I hope they take a moment to upgrade the services and quality of the product which gave their later titles foundation, for the sake of the community of gamers who so faithfully supported and patronized them over the years.

But anyone who thinks someone is going to sift through this lots adding names etc is clearly deluded. There are 600 replies to this I make that 550 more replies than there are players who actually use WA. If they don't play, why are they reseving their names? It only makes sence for those who use WA on a regular basis. The best way is to let people register their names at the time and any that get stolen are looked into after wards - if the theif doesnt reply or is clearly a theif then have the account turned over.

This would definitely be way more work than simply get a list of all nicknames that have replied in this thread. (I'm assuming that the vBulletin software has capabilities to do this.)

I don't see why not. Who can prevent someone from going on a registration stroke and register "M3ntal", "Lex", "Spadge" etc. right after public registration will be re-opened? Also I'd doubt "Lex" is a very uncommon nickname - infact, there are 7 nicknames beginning with "Lex" registered on this forum. Rather than trying to figure out who's the real who and whoever deserves that nickname most, or just letting it all go by the "first come, first served" principle, I'd find this solution more just and practical.

Unless it's a very special lucky number for that guy, it seems rather random to me.

You don't need to and can't register, as online ranking has been disabled in 2000.
This thread is just for reserving your name when (secure) online ranking comes back.

Normally, the name and avatar section is empty when you delete a user. The posts remain for thread continuity.
It seems volcadmin edited the post to put a name back into the name section. I've never seen that done before.

It seems volcadmin edited the post to put a name back into the name section. I've never seen that done before.
