I've seen maps that have an all white background. How is this done??

But I have maps with like 113 colours and the background is still displayed normal - not that I want a solid white background or anything.

You sir, entered a paradox.

anyone got some solid white background maps. So I can look at them and compare. I still don't understand.

I think its a case of it having more that 113 colours.

No, that's not true. If a map has more than 113 colours it's dithered to 113 colours in the map editor.

sigh, ok to quote:

* 64 colours and less - the map will be displayed perfectly, with no glitches
* 65-96 colours - the map background sprites (falling debris, clouds, etc.) are removed; the destroyed-soil background may be glitchy
* 97-112 colours - destroyed soil will be solid black; the destroyed-soil border is solid gray. The background gradient palette will be evenly loaded into the remaining space in the palette, and the background gradient is redithered using the map + background palette - thus, a map with 112 colours (bar black) will have a background gradient dithered exclusively from the map's palette.
* 113 colours and more - the map will not load.

I can only assume you have a map with more than 64 colours and are running an old version or worms?

Yes, it is. I've tried it (loading a 256-colour map with more than 113 colours used) and that's what happened. It obviously won't work with 24-bit maps, but that wasn't what I was talking about. I probably should've been more specific though.

Yep, i've noticed that too. This map http://www.wmdb.org/3666 I believe won't load in v3.6.26.5 without importing it but it loads fine in 3.6.28.0 and specifically shows a message each time saying that it was dithered down to 113 colours.
