given, first I've gotta buy WA, if I can find one online or somethin, since it's like 9 years old now...
but, anyways, I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop with Vista Home Basic and wasn't sure if Worms Armageddon would work even with the latest beta updates on this. i sure of hell hope so, though; WA rules :D

but as far as it working on my Vista laptop, i'm curious and just not sure  so I'd appreciate the help/advice

See this thread: http://forum.team17.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=47. If you can't get it running immediately, I'm sure there will be a patch to improve compatibility soon.

Also, you can buy W:A and a lot of other games from Team17 directly here (https://secure.team17.com/browse.html?area=PC/MAC).

Have fun. :D

Patrick, that's a link to an entire forum

It is very unlikely to work on Vista if you have Intel's integrated graphics (which most lower spec laptops have), a few people have reported some success using XP drivers but most haven't. See this thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=34046). If the laptop has an Nvidia or ATI card, it will probably be alright.

I'd still recommend getting XP though :p The first thing I did when I got my new laptop was fry Vista. Now it starts up lovely and fast.

Oops, I meant to point to a thread. :D

Rather than fix the link, I recommend just searching the W:A forum. There seem to be a lot of Vista threads.

well my laptop does have ATI graphics and i suppose by downloading the newest patches & beta upgrades in the end it should--or hopefully--will work, just for offline fun. as far as replacing my Vista with XP--it won't happen. but thanks for the advice, and thnaks Patrick for the links.
