Crime against humanity! I like to keep my dessert and main course separate.

It's okay.
But I have eaten "Pizza Hawaii" as my default pizza for several years and now I'm back to salami, onions and champignons.

I'm more concerned with the recent trend of people (especially girls "trying" to stay thin) putting rocket salad on their pizza.
That's contradictive and plainly wrong. :p

Around here you can get pizza with kebab meat, dreanched in generic kebab sauce covered with frenchfries. If that isn't a crime against humanity I don't know what is. Tasty though..

What about tomatoes?

*Opens can of worms - are they a fruit, are they a vegetable?*

It's both.

Tomatoes are vegetables.
edit: at least, it is in culinary terms.

I like pineapple. I like pizza. I like pineapple on pizza. I like pineapple in curry. I like pineapple with cheese on sticks. I don't understand what it is about pizza that makes some people who otherwise like pinapple suddenly hate it so.
I like chocolate, but I don't want it on my Yorkshire pudding.

That might be worth trying, actually. Wouldn't be that far away from a battered mars bar.

I generally dislike salty things, so a bit of sweetness in main courses is good... pineapple, plum sauce, mint jelly, whatever. Then, I like really effing sweet desserts.

Fruit doesn't mix with Pizza. Its' wrong.

You're digging yourself into a hole. Olives are a fruit too. Tomatoes are a fruit, and they're juicy and sour like many other fruits. I think what you're looking for is that in culinary terms, there's a distinction between fruits which are sweeter and fruits which are not so sweet.

Go on then. I expect you to use Cadbury's Dairy Milk - the regular stuff, not the "Caramel" or "Bubbles" variants or whichever - and I expect you to put it on home-made Yorkshire Pudding. I also expect photographic and/or video evidence of the meal.

Edit: as if there's any chocolate in Dairy Milk.

I like chocolate, but I don't want it on my Yorkshire pudding.

Ever had chilli on a Yorkshire pudding? It has chocolate in, you know. Good stuff, anyway.

Crime against humanity! I like to keep my dessert and main course separate.

Sweet and sour sauce? Chicken dhansak? What's wrong with you, of course you can have sweet things in a main.

I hate pineapple.

I like pineapple when it's on a pizza.

Is there something wrong with me? :(
I'm similar actually. Not that I don't like pineapple in other contexts: it's just that my intestines don't. Fresh, tinned, dried... regardless, I get trapped wind and all sorts of nasty stuff. But on a pizza, it's fine. Maybe the cheese counters it, or maybe it's the baking. I don't know.

While putting pineapple on a pizza he was making,
Paul wondered why it doesn't get his belly aching.
For when it was fresh or tinned,
It churned up a horrible wind.
Maybe it's something in the baking.

Whoops, wrong thread. :D

I once had a fruit pizza.

Basically a bread base with pear, peach and pineaple pieces glazed in honey.

I'm speaking strictly in culinary terms. We're discussing food here.

The honey debate is dead.

I think this must be the worst pizza ever (that's actually been made and sold)

dessert pizzas are a different topic all-together. for the sake of this discussion all pizza without tomato sauce (or equivalent) is disqualified :p

It looks more like an Oreo cookie pizza.
Now that you mention it.
I should have recignized it though, as a work collegue bought a pack of those (in Austria quite rarely seen) cookies only an hour before I posted.

Ham & pineapple is the best thing since sliced... pizza.

I just like that extra juiciness to the food. I'm also partial to Sweet & Sour... the pineapple adds a nice kick.

I can tolerate pineapple in Chinese sweet & sour dishes, but for some reason I can't stand it on a pizza...

I'm weird, aren't I? :p

Is this poll closed already? Otherwise I think the new members also deserve to vote on this, so we can have a more up to date idea of how much Pineapple on pizza sucks. :)
