Is there any way to get the WA demo for a windows xp?

I tried downloading the demo and the beta patch, but it comes up as a black screen, gives me a message "WA has cause an error and now must close" And it goes back to the desktop.

Any idea how to fix this?

If not, is there any way to buy the software in a store or something?

if you mean buy WA you can order WA, WWP and worms 2 in a small, conviently low priced package from the team17 store.

They also sell different packs for you to choose from.

the beta patch only works for the full retail CD version. if you use it on the demo then the game will look for stuff that isn't in the demo and will crash out.

When in doubt, Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00000K4DE/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1205147903&sr=8-2)

I mean like a store that is physically on the map somewhere.
preferrably near Niarga falls.

Try running in compatibility mode (Right click the program (not shortcut), properties, compatibility, run this program in compatibility mode with... Windows 98)

preferrably near Niarga falls. Your local stores are unlikely to sell a copy of Worms Armageddon, unless you can find some sort of Sold Out Software stash in a little corner of a very large video games store. How much of a problem is it to purchase a copy online?

I dont have a credit card, paypal, or any other way to pay online.

Could you not get a friend or relative with a credit card to order the game for you and you give them the cash?

No.
I guess have to hope that EB games has a "worms" game in stock.

You could try and ask in various stores if they can order it from Amazon for you.
There's a record store in my town that does that for everything they don't have in stock.

Do EB not have a catalog which they can use to order in items they don't have in stock?

Well, they exist in Scotland, at least. I've got a local trader. I traded my PS2 and all 50 games for a PS3. Not bad.

Why didn't I think of that...

Because 50 last-gen games are better than a next-gen console?

Although it might be worth a PS3 minus the hassle of having to individually ebay 50 games and the PS2.

I'm quite sure you would have more fun with a PS2 and 50 games than with a PS3 and any of the games currently in it's catalog.

Well, that'll change on April 29th for sure.

According to a magazine that i just read, 2008 is apparently the year for the PS3. So you...just...watch it!

See if your bank lets you do prepaid-gift cards. You can usually use these types of cards anywhere that accepts a credit card (check first).

Put $25 or whatever on it, and then use it to purchase Worms from the Team17 store.

Hope this solves your problem. :)

Was the magazine, by any chance, Sony-sponsored?

gamesTM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GamesTM)? Doubt it. But anyway, we'll see what actually happens in the coming year.
