The Fiddler only works on Worms Armageddon Version 3.0.0.0, it DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT work on ANY later version. Read the instructions next time.

Read this tutorial (http://worms2d.info/The_Fiddler#Installing_Fiddler_on_Windows_XP) carefully and it should work.

Also, you need to have set some values in the "Set ammo/delays..." menu in Fiddler.

bonz
16 Feb 2008, 15:11
which patch version
*Sigh*
Your Fiddler version: 4.0a
Latest Fiddler version: 4.01
Do you notice the difference? (I took the liberty to highlight it in red.)

Now go back to the tutorial I linked you to and read it.

No one here has any faith in you getting fiddler to work, you can't even follow simple instructions and getting the program to work is ten times harder. Either way, you don't need a patch, you need to install the game without applying any patches.

The only patch you might need is the v3.0.0.0 patch.
That's only needed though if your version is the original v1.0.

Anyway, I have updated the wiki page. It now contains a link to the v3.0 patch.

He does what he wants because a pirate is free; he is a pirate.

I guess this marks the end of the discussion.

I was doing that so he'd admit he was using a no-cd crack

Gues you've ruined it now. I'll still report him.

Then you'll have to buy a new copy (https://secure.team17.com/browse.html?area=detail&skuid=79) - it hardly costs a fortune.

hamz10
22 Feb 2008, 22:45

thomasp
22 Feb 2008, 23:09
Well that's good because you'll have £3.01 spare after you've bought the game.

Your sister ripped up your manual in the other thread. I guess it must have been the dog this time that broke the CD?

thomasp
23 Feb 2008, 00:11
I only considered it because my sister broke my cd (in his case manual) and my parents wouldn't let me buy another one so I have to use the crack.
... and any further discussion about cracks will result in your access to this forum being terminated.

Please read the Rules thread in the announcements forum

Read it already, just thought I'd let you know.

So you think Fiddler will ever be able to be used on newer versions?

SgtFusion
23 Feb 2008, 03:37
It will once they implement Fiddler Scheme compatibility (which probably won't happen until v4.0 is released; that is to say, at least for another 3 years or so), which means that WA will treat Fiddler Scheme files the same as regular scheme files.

Hey, I've done everything it says in the tutorial, and when I try to run 30.exe, it says the disk isn't in! I don't have any pirate copies, and yes CyberShadow, the disk IS in. So, can anyone help me?

Muzer
23 Feb 2008, 08:43
It usually mans you installed the patch when you didn't need to. Just leave the copy as it is, don't install the patch, if you have a SOS or US version

I have a Sold Out version fresh from a store from the UK. (sorry for the food joke, please don't kill me Gordon Ramsy/Jamie Oliver)

No, it was Fwd. Adm.'s dead mother who resurrected as poltergeist.

Try copying the unpatched wa.exe (v3.0) from your CD and rename it to 30.exe again.

Also, IIRC, it made some difference if you have an UK or an US version of the v3.0 wa.exe.

Shirdel
27 Feb 2008, 09:15
I have a UK version. And it says in the tutorial you need to patch both versions. The main directory for my W:A programs is C:\Team17 EDIT: I reinstalled it to Team17\Worms Armageddon and didn't patch it, and changed its name to 30.exe. It, for a while, worked perfectly, but when I clicked on Start Game, it said: "Worms Armageddon has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvinience." EDIT 2: I tried what you told me to do in the PM bonz, but the same problem happened from when I tried to (see above) :(

No.
You must not use any patches/beta updates before you copy and rename your wa.exe to 30.exe.
That 30.exe must stay v3.0.
