I like amusing forum games as much as everyone else here. Also, I've learned that I like making ones that result in less work for me, but don't mind hosting ones that require me to do a bit of work if I don't need to think about it too much. So, I've combined all of these things into one for this game.
We are going to write a story, one sentence at a time. However, we aren't going to know exactly what the previous sentence is. Cue terrible grammar and continuous swapping between tenses. The rules are as follows.
Somebody PM's me a sentence. They then post in this thread the last 3 words of that sentence and 1 other word from anywhere else within that sentence. Making the extra word something like "and" or "but" makes you totally rubbish, so please try to choose a meaningful word that helps give people some idea of what you've written, but not give too much away. Then somebody else continues the story in the same way, again PMing their whole sentence to me. When the story starts going nowhere or becomes too ridiculous, I'll post all of the sentences to reveal the story, and someone starts a new story. I'll try to keep my PM box empty, so sorry if it fills, you'll just have to wait.
As an example, if the previous post is:
balloon
into the sky
then I might PM the next sentence "A little boy sarts crying down below, tears streaming
down his face." and post the following:
crying
down his face.
Of course, this example isn't funny, I'm sure your sentences will be.
I'll start the game off, and no, I won't be joining in after this as I know the story.
villain
off a bomb.
