Whispering in chat ingame?

Me and snowdog assumed pressing the f keys did the whisper thing but we were told its not whispering just highlighting the name to it stands out. So how do u whisper.

Note:
The whispered text is not (yet) transferred securely over the net.
You can read it in plain text with network protocol analyzers, or - even easier - export the log of the replay of the very same game you are just playing.
The same is true for anonymized text (/anon).

There was, but it has been disabled with the beta updates.
