I go to log on in, then the main lobby screens starts up, then it turns off. I tried turning off all firewalls, and checked the exception that allowed WA to play. Why can't it go online?

You are using the cd in the drive to play, as i heard it has checks on there to make sure the cd is in before you can play online. So if your er bypassing that then that might be the bother.

I'm using the CD to play.

I'm not sure what Skeeter is talking about, as the CD version of the game obviously requires a CD anyway.

Please tell us exactly what and when happens. If you see any error messages, copy them over.

Alright. I load up WA. From the menu, I click to go to online, wormnet. I click on the one that isn't LAN, then the server, and then logging in. Right when the menu shows up for a second, it crashes and closes.

No messages except the usual message from Microsoft telling me whether I should sent this error to them or not.

it is highly suspect that some security program is stopping it from making a connection and is popping up a dialog box that causes W:A to crash. once you close W:A, said dialog box disappears because the program is no longer trying to connect.

What kind of security program in the world would shut down an application by crashing it, then disappearing without a notice?
That would hinder you to use your computer in a sensible way at all.

Anti-viral tools and firewalls normally halt the task and ask you.

Please install WormKit (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/wormkit/) and this module: 30849
Run the game to the point it crashes, then compress and upload any EXC_xxxx.DMP files that will appear in your W:A folder.

the program does not crash it, the fact that focus is lost at a critical moment could tho. it disappears after because the game crashed right? it is no longer attempting to make a connection thus said security device closes the dialog box it self since there is no longer a need to answer it.

No. I used to have ZoneAlarm that did that. What it does actually is make a window in the background that causes WA to hang, not crash (until you dismiss the window).
