Worms 4 Starting Problem

Hello,

i have a problem starting Worms 4. I have installed the newest Patch from the team17 download site und checked weather the starforce drivers are installed correctly.
When i hit the "play" button in the launcher or try to run the '.exe directly the game is not working. the screen gets black, the loading screen sometimes appear and then the game crashes.

but i dont know what this is telling me, so o need ur help :)

ive got XP sp2 running, nearly all updates so this cant be the problem.
512 mb ram and a geforce 6600 gt. Athlon 64 3500+ as cpu.
direct x 9.0c and nearly the newest driver for the geforce.

I dont know why the game crashes immediately when i try to run it, so please help me.

Hmm... Try this:
In your Worms 4 main folder, open up the 'data' folder. Look for a file called 'savegame.xom'. Delete it, then try again.

Hello,

there is no file called savegame.xom in my data folder.

-> Plasma tried to send me the file, even with the file in my main folder and in my data folder its still the same error...

Has anybody else an idea what to do ?

Edit:

I could find out, that the next line in an NORMAL log file, should be
" 6412 | Load data banks "
but that one is not in my logfile, i think there might the the problem... just wanted u to know that.

Don't think so. I assume you've tried reinstalling?

from what i have gathered, the file 'savegame.xom' is never meant to exist.

did you read my last posting ? its not the savegame.xom, i've tried with the file and without it... u could read my log file, that would help u to help me.

You're thinking of savegame.xml. Samvegame.xom does exist but only after one successful launch, it's the file that stores the save game!
