Okay, so a long, long time ago, I downloaded the demo of Worms 4. Lo and behold, sound doesn't work.
Then, six months later, I decide to boot it up again. Sound works, despite no changes to my computer short of an extra 512 MB of RAM. No other new hardware, no new drivers.
So I go out and buy the game.
Sound doesn't work in the full game...
So I try everything conceivable and even contact the Codemasters tech support (incidentally, they were NOT helpful).
And now...
I have been reduced to the lowest of the low.
I have...
POSTED ON THE FORUM.
Basically, no sound whatsoever works no matter what I do. I have no other problems with the game. Sound still works in the demo, and I have the US version.
When I try to update the chipset drivers for my motherboard, my system crashes, but it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem and I'm definitely installing the right ones, so it suggests an installation error, a problem with the drivers themselves, or a massive software problem.
System specs:
Processor: AMD Dual-Core 3700+
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE
Motherboard: NVIDIA nForce 4 AMD Motherboard
RAM: 2.00 GB (one 1GB stick and two .5GB sticks)
Extra hardware which has absolutely no bearing on anything as it was installed after the purchase of the game and nothing has changed: AGEIA PhysX Processing Unit
And now for the obligatory:
HALP MEEEEEEE
