I registered just so I could give mad props whoever thought up the idea of adding snow to the frontend and maps at Christmas time.

Heh nice one CS (i think?) Lovely touch :)

Lovely touch
Indeed, it was a nice surprise.
Howbout year round..
It would make a nice option, I would love the ability to switch up the debris every once in a while.
i've tested this with a systerm time and date. it doesn't support orthodox Christmas. i don't think this belief discrimination, but it can be good idea to have snow twice a year

Yea is it possible to get it ingame? Not before the switch to true colour...

WA caused some seriously bad karma! It's supposed to be summer down here, but after seeing the snow in WA, some places not far from me got enough hail the next day to make snowmen out of the ice. :p

That's not bad karma, that's global warming.

The only way I think would be possible is finding the stars and snow files and renaming them... Still, excellent surprise.

There are no "snow files", though. ;)

So then how does the snow appear on Xmas day?
A large enough part of the populace has to wish for it to happen and it does. Too many questions might break the magic. :(
it would simply be embedded in another file, possibly even in a different format to the stars file (but not likely).
So then how does the snow appear on Xmas day?
The so-called snowflakes are white squares, so they could be drawn with a few lines of code.

However, you could alter the "star" files so that every frame is a white square.
EDIT: I think I've found the one that's used for the frontend. It's in (C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon)\graphics\Background Stuff (replace the part in parentheses with whatever directory you installed WA in).
So then how does the snow appear on Xmas day?
It's the arctic snow from the north pole that falls off of Santa's sled as he passes the chimneys not dropping any present down yours!

That's exactly what's actually happening, if I remember correctly. A square of 2x2 pixels is being cut out, the animation is stopped and the number of "stars" is increased.
I don't know who you think you'll fool with that. Snow made of stars, give me a break... *Continues spreading his own, infinitely warmer theory.*
HNY, everyone! This looks as good a thread as any for this. :o
