i see these days wormnet get crowded,
i was wondering is there any limit for how much users can sign in ?
or how much games can be hosted at the same time ? or something ?
I'd say it is limited by the IRC protocols capacity.
And probably by the WN server's ressources.
And, ehrm... beer.

i heard a couple of times people saying WN is lagging cause of too much people .
what does it mean ? nothing to do with its capacity ?
btw
can for example 1000 people be logged in wormnet at the same time ?
(the max i saw is 80 .)

Probably would be. I mean too many people logged in would most certainly crash wormnet and i'm talking about 400-500. Can someone correct me on that? It's just a guess or maybe fewer than that.
considering last i heard (which was ages ago) the server hosting wormnet 1 & 2 is like a pentium 2 with 512mb of ram....
i doubt more then maybe 200 people could sign in and more then 40 would start introducing lag from lack of CPU power...

hmm good information.
anyway , if wormnet face more than its "limit" everyday , or lets say if the average of people getting logged in at the time (online in wormnet, don't join any games) gets over its limitation , then would team17 improve its so-called pentium 2 ? or will say : "that's the way it is , get used to it!"
?
if it works then it works :P there is no need to touch what already works. lag doesnt stop it from working.

IRC is an old system; according to wikipedia it was created in 1988. I can't imagine it's really that intensive.
probably got hacked alot back in 1988 too.
