View Full Version : Christmas Loot

It is Christmas soon. That time for celebrating something or another. And also a time for LOOT (For those who celebrate it, naturally). So, what do you forum-goers want/are expecting to get? That way, once it is over, you can compare that with the miserable pile of dung that you DID get.
Yeah.
Leopard.
Though I highly doubt I'll get it, cus I'm a greedy bast - with lots of other loot on my list. :(

honestly, I know my wife is getting me The Witcher and Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, but she's also planning on getting me something else I'm not aware of, but that I apparently wanted at some point. so that works for me. aside from those 2 games, I've pretty much bought everything I wanted this year myself :p I think my family are mostly getting gift cards and the like.
should be interesting to see what all I end up with in the end :p

I'm expecting... NOTHING! :D :(
I'm expecting to raffle away my extra HalfLife2 on RealVG (www.realvg.org) this season, as it's just been sitting around bugging me this whole time.
I'm expecting... a cheque worth $100,000 from Bill Gates for that Microsoft and AOL email.
Unlikely.

- Box of Warhammer 40k figures (probably Tau)

I'm HOPING to buy myself a Wii, since the cash has been building up since November. And of course, at Xmas we always have deranged/elderly aunts sending wodges of cash to any youngsters they know.
On the other hand, I'm expecting an Xbox wireless receiver for the PC, so I can finally use the Controllers with me pc. Then, I'll be doing XNA tutorials, and learning how to program games using it. No problem. I'm doing (in my classes at school) university-level programming anyway. Or so my teacher says, but he'd never heard of the "for each x in y" statement...
Also, CHOCOLATE. LOTS OF IT.

I have no idea, largly because I didn't tell anyone what I wanted (largely because I had no idea when I was asked).
Which probably means I'll get a calculator, a razor, some chocolate and varying amounts of Smith's vouchers (or a similar combination similarly of exiting stuff).
FUN
On the other hand, I can normally find someone to exchange vouchers for money, so it's not that bad. :)
I'm HOPING to buy myself a Wii

Speaking of that, I purchased the Orange Box a couple of days ago. I could run episode 1 but not TF2 and Portal (didn't try ep2). So I went and bought a new Graphics card, which is the only think I need to upgrade to play them. A radeon x1050, because it was dirt cheap. So now I installed the new card and... it's not working right. And also it's now stuck into my AGP slot. :(

Try this:

Well, only that it's not just steam games that don't work, other games are also not working. It also has trouble when playing videos, watching too many images... the problem's with the card actually.

I'll try to explain then.
Old people often tell young people how hard was life before, without all the stuff we have now, and since Star Worms posted like an old man would stereotipically do, Akuryou posted a picture making a reference that matched in a perfect way, considering the exagerations old people like to do about what they had to do when they were young, like having to climb a mountain, to get to school, when it was obviously not true, even though it was still a long and possibly painful way.
I guess you won't need a new brain then, but train it.

I'd learnt that by Year 8, and that was in a UK school god knows how long ago. Guess school standards really are slipping and everything is getting easier :p

Oh woo! More goodies!
Well, I've now got €215 (including giftcards), all the stuff I said earlier, The Far Side Gallery 1, a Calvin and Hobbes collection, two hats, a scarf, and... socks.
Also, my parents got a new TV for their room, so I get their old one! So much for me ever coming out of my room again...
