Okay, We play LAN at work, but we would love to use custom maps through LAN.. is this even possible? What good is a custom map if you can only play on your computer...

- we've loaded the custom maps through the editor, but it doesn't show up under LAN set up. any help?

Yes, you can!

Do it this way:
1) Make sure you have installed the latest beta update v3.6.28.0 (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/files/WA_update-3.6.28.0_Beta_Installer.exe).
2) Create or download a WA-compatible color map (http://worms2d.info/Colour_map) (www.wmdb.org lots of them.)
3) Put the color maps into your ..\user\saved levels folder (importing via the import folder won't work for PNG maps.
4) Find out what (local) LAN IP address the computer has that you want to host with.
5) The host clicks on the Direct IP button at the bottom of the network screen.
6) All clients enter the hosts IP address in the box next to it and press enter as soon as it's hosted.

Okay... so it will work with the updated patch, but not the older version... because the previous one doesn't have a direct IP button option...

And the map will show up in the drop down for TCP/IP connection with the beta update?

I don't really understand why bonz told you to use Direct IP if ordinary LAN games already work. The only advantage to Direct IP games is that you can specify parameters that can enable rope knocking, etc. The reason you need to update to a newer version is because they introduce colour PNG maps, and the ability to send them over the network.

Well, that's one reason.
Also that I'm confused.
