Problem with internet play

For the last 2 days me and my friend have been trying to play either WA or WWP online. For WA, we get into the host screen, we set up the game and he clicks start game and then for me it just goes like this: Loading... for a couple of seconds and then it throws me out onto the desktop. While on WWP, he can't log on to WormNet. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Since this is the WA forum [and since WA is arguably the better game online], here's what to do to get it working:

1. Uninstall the game completely.

2. Install the game again, but make sure you aren't using the TryMedia version; any legally bought CD release is good. Team17 sell a pack with WA and W2 in it for 6 GBP in their online store.

3. Update the game to the latest beta version. That's 3.6.28.0 at the moment and you can download the only necessary update here (http://www.clansfx.co.uk/downloads/WA_update-3.6.28.0_Beta_Installer.exe).

If the crash continues to happen, you will get a box telling you where to find two files that will tell the game's developers what went wrong. Find those files, Zip them up and upload them as an attachment to your reply in this thread.

If you and your friend are behind a router or a strict firewall, one if you will have to forward some ports and both of you will have to configure your firewalls so that WA.exe is allowed access to the internet. And also it may be an idea to tell us your operating system (which version of windows (eg XP, vista, windows 98...)) and which graphics card you have.
