View Full Version : Okay, enough of the seizure avs

Instead, here, have this (a Paul.Power/bonz production):
30976
Bonz' Big Zip File: http://www.mediafire.com/?8yzdwmtvykj (206KB)
I'm separating all those images at the moment to accommodate all you lazy people.
Although I, no offense, will probably be going back to the non-seizure form of this whenever I bore of it, I'd like to say that I heartily endorse this event or product anyway. :p
Although maybe I'll still give this a shot for a trial period just for the sake of it.
When I've finished separating all avatars, I'll be posting a .zip file containing all of them, neatly numbered and labeled with the correct name.

Why have you done K^2?
Get all avatars from the above sheet as single images in one .zip package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?8yzdwmtvykj (206KB)
Paul, you may want to add that link to the first post.
Why have you done K^2?
Because Iguana doesn't want to be alone on that sheet. :)

its the fact you said tough luck which is a bit rough around the edges
No it isn't.
Paul used that avatar sheet for a competition elsewhere.
I suggested that we could use them as actual avatars.
This is not one of those stupid "Plz draw me!" threads.

I would reccomend it, but why is this thread called enough of the seizure avs? whats wrong with them?
I get a headache when there are too many of them on one page.
and can we just take any of those avatars you showed us?
Obviously not, as every avatar depicted represents a forum member.
If your avatar is not shown, then you can't use one.
Although, Iguana and K^2 probably won't use theirs, since they are banned.
If you take one of those two, you'd risk to get banned for multi-accounting (again) though, Iggy!

Could you put me on there? draw me as a grim reaper worm. If not then it doesn't matter. But if you want to create avatars that are better than the flashing ones then if somebody asks you to draw them their own worm, you should actually do it. But if not then it doesn't matter.
But if you want to create avatars that are better than the flashing ones then if somebody asks you to draw them their own worm, you should actually do it.
Disagreed. The only way to make avatars better than the flashing ones is to make ones that don't flash.
Meh. I'll do anyone an av in Paul's pixel style if they haven't already got one, and if they request. Just as long as they post a picture of their sigworm.
Edit: Also, I'm keeping avatars disabled until there's very few seizure avs left.

The point is, you can't be good at hand drawing and bad at drawing in your computer. The artistic perception remains the same, you can see if your art sucks and therefore either strife to perfect it or just stop making it and not post it on the internet.

The point is, you can't be good at hand drawing and bad at drawing in your computer. The artistic perception remains the same, you can see if your art sucks and therefore either strife to perfect it or just stop making it and not post it on the internet.
I can draw reasonably well on paper, but if you remember my old 'art' thread, i'm quite possible WORSE than shadowmoon with paint (or whatever).
It's quite easy to be good at one thing and terrible at something seemingly similar

So now your saying not to post it on the internet? Mtlangelus, you are wrong. Drawing on the computer is harder because you have a mouse. Drawing using a pencil is easier. And i said it before, and i will say it again. So what if i am not good at drawing? i can still post pictures on the internet. So what? some people suck, but does that matter? Mtlangelus, i can post pictures on the internet if i want to, and just because one person tells me not to, it doesn't mean i have to.
Mind if I be pedantic?
Yeah, sure! of course you can! nobodys stopping you.
Just when we're on the subject of young'ns being good/crap at art, I'm 13 and both my hand drawn and freehand computer art sucks, but I'm half decent at pixel art. I bet if I could be bothered to practice enough at pixel art, I could get pretty good, but I can't imagine the same thing with hand drawn or freehand computer art. I just love the intricacy and preciseness of pixel art.

and as for drawing on the computer/with a pencil. if you can't draw with a mouse, you can't draw with a pencil. sure, you can be better at one or the other, but art is about fundementals, the medium is less important. if you're capable of seeing something with an artists' eye then you'll be able to render it in the medium of your choice decently well. so while I might grab a mouse and draw something that looks pretty good, I can still pick up a paintbrush and attempt to paint but be unable to make it as good as I could on the computer. I WOULD, however, be able to paint my subject with at least some level of skill and it wouldn't be an aweful painting, just not an especially good one. it's the same with sports. if you suck at sports in general it's because you're not coordinated and you're going to suck at all sports. if you're good at sports then you're going to be at least half-decent at pretty much any sport, just not necessarily great.

My art does not belong in a dark hole at all. It is not impossible to be bad at computer art and good at drawing on paper. And at the end of the day, its about trying and giving it a go. Not to make it truly superb. And, does it matter if my art sucks? no it doesn't. And aku, i can tell Mtlangelus hates my art. I really can. Its the way he puts it into words that explains that he doesn't like my art. For some reason i disagree with both you and Mtlangelus. I have a great imagination and create comics everyday. Not any of my friends have said that my art is bad. And Mtlangelus look, you can be really mean sometimes. No offense, but you could have said how to improve, instead of saying AHHH! ITS HORRIBLE! KILL IT! at the end of the day, its about giving it a go. Paint is a rubbish progam to create stuff on, but its the only progam i have.

Sounds like me in Grade 8. Everything was 2-D nightmares and I tortured you all with it anyway. I drew with a mouse and paint yeah... Now here I am, 3 years later, still doing hand-drawn art on paper and computer. Get a tablet. Then you won't have to suffer drawing with a mouse like I did for 3 years.

The get GIMP. Search it on google.
Also; experiment! Don't try the same things over and over again! Experiment around with different things! Though generally, people who a superb with pencil drawings often aren't the best painters, due to the fact they're similar but different techniques. That was aimed at myself.

It seems like too much of the hilt is visible from the bottom. We can't even see any of the top of the hilt, so it seems like he's gripping the blades.
It would probably be better if less of the hilt's bottom was visible and more of the top was.

Paint is a rubbish progam to create stuff on, but its the only progam i have.my point was that if you can't draw, keep it to yourself until you can. we don't need any more pink banana worms around here. similar to how no one really wants to see chicken scratch on a piece of paper, we just don't want to see bad art. if you wish to learn to draw art, then practice when you can and show people you know. if you can't get the hang of paint then get a scanner for your paper stuff instead, and post that here, as its typically easier to help with and less painful on the eyes :p
the other point I was trying to make was that art is art, it doesn't reallly matter what medium you use. if you have artistic skill then you're going to have that skill regardless of how you implement it. while that skill probably won't carry over between painting and sculpting, that skill WILL translate between digital and traditional art. if you know how to draw and how to draw well you'll be able to draw on a computer. not as well unless you practice, obviously, but you'll be able to draw decently at least. and inversely if you can draw on a computer, learning to draw better on paper will significantly improve your abilities on the computer. the 2 styles are extremely similar.

You know if i posted a picture of one of my hand drawn worms now, you would think its worth something. Yeah, you probably don't want to see bad art, but what i am trying to say to you, is that it doesn't matter if its bad art its about giving it a go. And if it is bad art then you can just tell them whats wrong can't you? Before, i took 2 minutes to complete that, now its transformed. There's nothing wrong with bad art. You just have to tell them what went wrong and they will improve it, just like i did. And Pigbuster i fixed that problem i think. Is this better? http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=16ks1.png

Once, there was someone on some painting game show thing who did a big ol' picture with one of those pads. It was really odd, because he was acting as if it was revolutionary and the most intuitive thing since the invention of the pencil, and then he showed Rolf Harris (who was presenting it and not just passing by or something) and he was amazed and wanted a go, and I was just sat there thinking "haven't you guys ever seen a laptop computer before?".
