I thought it would be released within a few weeks (or less) - and this was said a few weeks ago. I mean, like I have said before, I know you guys (coders of the update) have lives, and I don't want to annoy you, but that is what CyberShadow said.
That was said 8 days ago. http://forum.team17.co.uk/images/icons/icon10.gif
Can't blame you, though. These updates are seriously addictive.

I never promised anything.
The next update will be a mostly bugfix release anyway. Expect little new features.

Oh, you're right.
You get the cement, I'll have a shoe-shaped mold ready by the time you're back.

There is another update, it just hasn't been released yet. Thats what i meant. Cybershadow just said there will be a next update.

Nope, there isn't.
Only beta updates get released.
Alphas don't.
Cybershadow just said there will be a next update.
Most likely, because there are alphas newer than 3.6.28.0.

lol I like your terms ^^
Alphas don't ..
somedays it's called Epsilon version (like on Halo 3)
somedays Alpha
but that's all time the version BEFORE the beta right?

Since the betas are getting released, it doesn't make much sense to continue counting with any letters after Beta, does it?
but that's all time the version BEFORE the beta right?
Well, yes.
There are not many Greek letters before Beta, are there?
It's actually quite simple:
Beta updates = you get them
Alpha updates = you don't get them

On a slightly related subject, what is the rational behind the numbering of each update? Or, perhaps more importantly, is it simple enough for someone like me to understand?

It has been changed since the last Beta.
The last number will now always be 0 for Beta versions. Letters will not be used in neither Beta nor Alpha releases, and are for interstitial builds.

yeah but that's funny to see...Halo 3 Epsilon BEFORE Halo 3 Beta & Halo 3 final and there this is the other way...funny ;)

Well, after all, Halo is a funny game.
Unlike WA, which is serious business where version numbers are used correctly. :)

Yeah. When a company makes a game they're really proud of, they try to make it stand out from the crowd as much as they can.

I delayed the release of v3.6.29.0 because I felt it needed a fix for the pernicious WormNET lobby (IRC) minimise+restore crash. I believe I've now fixed that bug — so expect v3.6.29.0 very soon!
omg, that is so awesome ^^ thanks.

Great! I like the updates even if they just have bugfixes. I enjoy seeing what the bugs were that were fixed for some reason.
Seconded.
We must sound really sad.

So...what does "very soon" mean? Within 3 weeks?
it means a time after when it was said. if you want buggy games then go somewhere else.

What the heck?
So...what does "very soon" mean? Within 3 weeks?
"Very soon" means less than the biggest time span between two previous beta releases.
Now go figure.
