i've looked through www.wmdb.org and didnt find the map there... it looks like the example above and is all gray. any/all help appreciated.

WMDB has only colour maps.

You could have a look in Rastamahata's Worms Pack or check out [UFP]Ghost's huge pack, which already includes the first one.
(I don't know if the torrent is still available.)

it was a colour map, just used small grey squares about a 1x1 cm size at 800x600 res.

Well I don't have that map but it doesn't look so great. Just download any other, I'm sure there are betters

why would i make such a thread if i wasnt after this exact map? im not after others, im after this one which i played way back like 2 years ago when i started playing W:A

What I just remembered:
If you have played the map before and still have the replay, you can extract the map.
Use CS's "Worms Thumbnail Shell Extension (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/misc/)" to quickly find the map in your ..\user\games folder.

nah i havnt really preserved my replays from way back and i still dont really... i do of course extract stuff from the replays if i want it but thats now usually right after the game has finished being played. and i also didnt think i would lose the map from ages ago either, it MAY have been a work in progress (wip) but it might not have been. it was an interestingly brilliant map for its simplicity :P
