Hey all,

I'd like to play worms at my university, which has Debian Linux running on the computers I am allowed to install games on.

I'm a linux-newb, so I striclty followed this instruction...
http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/installguide-soldout4.php

Thx, for this beautiful page, it works quite well.
I can play, but there are some problems ...

(The WINE version is 0.9.44)
(I played in fullscreen mode)

Versions of wine 0.9.32 and newer have a bug that makes changing the resolution in the options screen ineffective. The only way to set the resolution on these versions is to edit the registry directly. See this bug report for information.
That's not true for version 0.9.44 ... but now the problems....

The game froze many times:

1. if i try to minimize the game (ok, that was written on the help page)
2. if i press "restart this round" ingame --> freeze
3. if a game has finished, the menu after the game is frozen ...
4. I can't load maps ... the map editor screen is immediatly frozen (that's my biggest problem) -> I don't want to play random maps ^^

Does someone have experience regarding this topic?
Maybe about the WINE config, there isn't that much about it on the help page...

Tank you in advance : ))

I can load maps, though I do use a stupidly old version (can't remember offhand) because tne Ubuntu repositories were last time I looked really out of date and I can't be arsed to mess around with compiling when I can just stick with what I have.

may I ask which version you use? : )
I don't really care whether I can load big maps ^^
I just want to load a 1920x696 colour map ...

0.9.30

Works fine, with the exception that:
1) After hosting a game, when it ends the game crashes (only when I host)
2) After dismissing any message box that doesn't result in a coplete change of screen, it crashes (eg the host game box doesn't crash it because it goes onto the pre-game area directly afterwards, but if you join a game and it fails it crashes.

And to fix the minimization problem, I run it in a window (see the site you linked earlier)

Ah ok, older WINE version : (
That's bad, because I don't have the rights to change that...
And today I tried the window mode but it did not work : /

Thank You anyway :)

It started a while ago but it was updated relatively recently, so I assume it's all up to date.
