I have the windows XP beta patch installed, tried to log in to wormnet and it says you can use any password/username combination so I type in some random characters and at the next screen I get a message saying username/password is incorrect? whats going on?

How random are they?
WA doesn't support all characters.
I suppose you tried limiting to alphanumeric characters too.

Also, you don't need a password, a username is enough.
You can enter you username in the nickname box on the network screen and then use the auto-login link.

Did you... make sure your nickname doesn't start with a number? I'm pretty sure that still isn't allowed.

yeah I'm pretty sure is was coz my login name didn't have any letters in it, just numbers
