Slow CD copying... [Archive]

I am using CloneCD to create an image of Worms World Party on my hard drive. However, shortly after it starts, the rate decreases from 440kB/s to between 50 and 30 kB/s, which means it would take between 3 and 4 hours to copy (I used the same tool to copy WA and Worms 2, and they took about a minute and a half). I am using the Sold-Out Software version of WWP. Help, please?

no....silly me, I didn't wait long enough to see that the rate increases after a little while. I tried a second time, and it worked fine.

:O yea it always starts slow and steadily increases in speed over time, else you wouldnt get a reliable read of the disc.

Have you ever heard about something called "angular acceleration"? :rolleyes:

That's not it, though. It's a type of "copy protection" that causes it, something about scrambled data at the beginning of the disc, I believe.

Use CloneCD with the "protected game" preset then.
