View Full Version : is it possible to force W:A 3.00 within 3.6.28.0?
OlderVersionGuy doesn't list it... what is its hex code? is it 00?
im curious because it would allow me to use the fiddler without 2 copes of the same exe and registry tweaks.... i could simply use the CheatEngine to force the game to emulate v3.00

Even if you get 3.6.28.0 to emulate 3.5, it won't help at all in getting the Fiddler to work with it. The Fiddler uses hard-coded memory addresses which are unique to every build of W:A.
yea i thought that, ok then.

With the Fiddler v4.01 you don't have to do any registry tweaks any more.

you do if you have 2 exe files... but i guess you can simply change the 3.00 file to wa.exe and the 3.6.28.0 file to some other name but, wouldnt 3.6.28.0 just change the registry again when its run... or is the registry key that fiddler/silkworm depend on not used by W:A 3.6.28.0 anymore?

AFAIK, the "PATH" registry setting isn't used by W:A at all.

Yes, that's the way Fiddler has always worked.
I tested it and can confirm it.
The only thing is, I had to manually load WA.
does the fiddler remember the last path if you manually specify it?
if yes then that makes it seem so damn simple to use lol.
1) Download the latest fiddler
2) Get a 3.0 exe
3) Put it in your WA folder and call it (I think) 30.exe (I can't quite remember).
3) Silkworm
4) Start fiddler and press go! not manual load. It should detect the 30.exe and load it.
