Vista Issue

hi, i am running Vista Premium on a HP laptop that is running an Nvidia
GF8400m GS.

I have done the nointro and compat checks for 2000 etc and i can get as far as the main menu, options to start offline game and i can get in to a host on wormnet. When the game is baout to load the game stops and i am kicked back to the desk top.

Now i think it is a gfx issue as when i switch between menu screens the colours flicker.

HELP ME PLEASE

Two possibilities here:

1.) Your graphics card drivers may need updating.
2.) W4M doesn't work on all laptops, so if the above doesn't solve the problem you may find yourself unable to play W4M on your laptop at all.

rednecks: how are you "kicked back to the desk top"? Do you get an error message of any kind?

did you try thre slow frontend work arounds? should help eliminate flickering but im not sure about it solving the crashing.

look in the games "tweaks" folder.

do you keep vista up to date with the latest patches etc. ?

Same crash as here (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?p=614613). Could one of you please report to #worms (http://worms2d.info/Worms_on_GameSurge) so we can work out a fix?

The other similar problem was solved. While in this case the video card is different, it's also an HP laptop.

rednecks: try the solution that worked for Worm-Freak (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?p=615107#post615107). If that doesn't work with the Beta, you can contact me (http://worms2d.info/Worms_on_GameSurge) for an alpha build so we can see if that fixes the problem.
