And it's time to buy myself a birthday present.
So I present you the options:
- A brand new PC. Yup I can pretty much affor a good pc now. But, y'know, not that good. Probably really good if I built it myself, but I would have to import most things from the US and that just doesn't work for me. I could also go with a monthly payment plan to get an even better PC...
- An Xbox360. There's Gears of War, Halo 3(and Halo 2 for that matter, never got to play it), and upcomming games like Alan Wake, Assasin's Creed, GtaIV, etc that I'm interested in... but I'm not sure, I think I'm getting to that point in my life where I'm starting to loose interest in videogames...
- A new rig for my guitar. Amp, effects and all sorts of fancy stuff, y'know.
- Drum kit. Not gonna happen tho, I doubt my family and/or neighbours would approve.
- Just keep saving and stick with buying the Orange Box and keep myself entertained with that... even if I have to run it on the lowest settings...

unless you can afford at least an 8800gts, your new rig will not be worth it

I'd go for a 360 and, when it comes out, a copy of Rock Band.
New PC.
Assemble it yourself to save money, mail-order from the cheapest retailer (if it is much cheaper even from the US).
Spend more on a good & big LCD screen.
Also, sell all the parts from your machine via small ads in a newspaper to some noobs and buy a cheap, used, but complete drum kit with that money.
Screw gaming consoles and musical instrument simulations. :p
I can't decide what it is you want.. but if your getting a console you should either get a PS3 or wait untill the 360 is fixed and safe. ;)
I got a nice camera for my birthday and then my parrents sent me on a super special mission to explore the world outside my home town. (A less naive person would say they kicked me out)

I could as well get a 360 and keep saving up for that perfect computer.
Also, Xinos, is the 360 broken? I was not aware of this.
The PS3 is a no-no because here, its not just expensive. It's... well it's around $1000. So eff that.
I could get it from the US, but I can also get a 360 here, and it'd cost pretty much the same as buying it in the US. Plus the PS3 doesn't have Halo :p

My vote is on a new PC, because that'd be awesome and then you couldn't use the "crappy computer" excuse any more. Plus it'd be awesome.

Get as much money as you can for a PC and get the best stuff possible.
Of course you could get a 360, but I personally prefer PCs, especially when it comes to games. Although consoles are generally more fun at parties and such.
If you really don't want to build yourself a PC though, an Xbox might be for you.
Hmm.
You could.
1) Save up enough money. And buy them all.
Providing your house is extremely safe from robbers, I'd recommend it.
2) Get a guitar rig, much much more creative. But be weary with effects, you'll probably end up with ones you never use like me. XD

Well I don't know how safe it is, but it does take effort to rob since we do have a large gate in the entrance that requires some physical condition to climb. That and we've never been robbed, ever. And there's enough houses around that look easier to rob from the outside. :p
And I'm eventually going to get everything, I hope. But I do want something for my birthday, so :p

invest in a 10-year us treasury bond and make up in interest the inflation of the us dollar :)

Yeah... no thanks. :P
Anyway, as much as I want a new PC, I've decided to buy something cheaper and keep saving until I can purchase an awesome PC. Which should be around Jan-Feb if everything goes well. Perhapes by Christmas if things go better.
As for now, I tought very seriously about the 360, but the trouble is I don't have a proper tv to play it on. Only the tv we've got downstairs but it's really small, or my mum's tv but that's in her room and that would diminish the gaming ours greatly.
So I purchased an effects processor for my guitar. :p
It's a Korg ToneWorks AX3000G, and I love it already.
Also got a cash present from my aunts that covered for about half of the cost of the ToneWorks.
I also looked around but the Orange Box hasn't been released around here lately. So I've already started pestering my mother to allow me to purchase it online.
Also, thanks everyone for their opinions.
