Hi all,
Could someone tell me the best way to configure my firewall under Vista so that I can host games on wormnet?. In XP I used to open up some specific ports, however there doesn't seem to be that option in Vista (or rather, it's different).
At the moment I've added WA to the list of programs allowed through the firewall, and this seems to work ok. But is it the safest way to do it?. Comments much appreciated :)
Just in case anyone's interested, WA is running fine on my copy of Vista. I installed from CD, immediately patched the game from the latest patch on the T17 website and then selected the options to run the game in Win XP compatibility mode, with 'run as administrator' checked. On startup, the game promptly crashed with an exception violation!!! :p So, on a whim I allowed it to run as a normal Vista application and unchecked 'run as administrator', and hey presto it's all good :)
Bit of an issue with the screen colour going dodgy on start of a game in wormnet, but the 'usual' trick (not that I've had this issue before sometimes... ;)) of hitting escape, minimising to the taskbar and then maximising again sorts it out.
