Custom Chat?

Am I missing something, or is there no way to chat without using the chat lines? I know you are able to edit the chat lines. But, what I would like to do is use the PSP keyboard system to write out what I want when I play. (Like what you use for naming your Team, Scheme, etc.) Is there no way to do this? If not, why?

You can't enter new messages during the game. I don't know why they did this but I probably wouldn't use it much anyway since by the time I wrote my message with the on screen keyboard, my turn would be over. I may be able to finish a message during multiple opponents turns but it's a pain. Voice chat is what it really needs.

have is fine, just sort out what sort of things you like to say.
