DX 10 Problems [Archive]

I am using an 8800GTX and whenever I try to join a network game it wont connect. I read on the tech support faqs that using DX9 may prevent you from playing in network games. I was wondering if the same was true for DX10.

I can't say I know much about DX, but there could be other reasons you can't connect to games. Do you have a firewall, or router? Can you connect online?

the FAQs are outdated on team17's website. that issue affected particular versions of directx 9, directx 9c and up should work fine.

I can connect online and i unblocked everything, but when I join a room and than try to get into a game it will just say searching for game and it will never connect. I am using a router.

here is info on configuring the game for the router. (note: you dont need the # range 1000-3212 forwarded. but you do need the others forwarded i think.)

and you WILL need to switch the IP the game detects every single time you open the front end.
