View Full Version : homing grenade & homing strike
Why were these two weapons removed in later versions (WA & WWP)?
I'm just wondering what people think, as I liked them both...
Because they are quite imbalanced weapons that can instantly kill a worm if all clusters hit it simultaneously.
One-shot-one-kill weapons generally are a bad thing. Except for the Holy Concrete Donkey of course. :D
I never thought of that, though they could turn the damage down...
people would just abuse the fact that damage can be adjusted so freely and set it up to be roughly what it deals in worms 2 then every game you join that has it would be boring -.-

I don't know, it could have just been for change.
Homing strikes are only useful near the surface and homing clusters are just awful. The latter only deals 20 more damage on explosion than a regular cluster anyway (and usually it blows up in the air before homing), and the clusters actually hurt less, so it's not a power problem. The majority of secret weapons and banana bombs all do more damage.
So at a stab, it could just have been to make way for more interesting or new weapons, as these were only useful in certain scenarios and fairly mediocre.
