Playing Worms Online - WORMNET

I downloaded Worms Armageddon off the net yesterday, me mate were desperate to play it so he decided to pay for it. I've well got back into it, not played it for years since the original one on the PC. The game runs fine but when i try to run the Online part of it so I can play over the net it cocks up, it lets me enter a username and then just as its loaded the servrs that are online the game just flashes and exits back to my desktop .... has anyone got any ideas?

Aswell i've been looking on the main site of team 17 website and it says there are upgrades and patches but I cant identify which version of the game I have, i've looked through the read me and the manual but cant find what version of the game I have, it says something about 'front end user agreement' or something but I can't find that anywhere, maybe its because I downloaded it off the net?

Any help would be much appreciated, nice one. :cool:

just, reinstall the game, update the game with v3.6.28.0 (and if it askes for any other update then also that too) then play.

if you purchased it from trygames, then get a refund and buy CDROM of game.

Did you download it from Trymedia or Trygames? If so, tough luck: They can't be updated to the latest version, so even if you can sort out the online problem, most people will kick you from their games because your copy can't support big maps.

Try and get a refund from them and buy a CD copy from https://secure.team17.com . Then get the 3.6.28.0 update from http://wa.team17.com .


Oh, and if you didn't get it from trymedia, I assume you downloaded it illegally, and therefore deserve to have problems. I suggest you follow my above advice.

It was from Trygames, and yeah, it was legal thanks.

So theres no way of resolving the problem through my version I downloaded? It says it was the full game so why wouldn't that support the bigger maps and if it is the full version why cant I download and install the patches?

TryMedia don't seem to want to support the Beta patches (which add the bigger maps, etc), as they are still in "Beta" and not official, final versions.

Hopefully when the "version 4" final patch is released, TryMedia will support it.


The only way to resolve your problems is to get a refund (I believe under UK law, you should be able to, as you have been sold a "defective product") and buy the CD version from the T17 shop, which is cheaper (last time I looked)
