I've been trying to host an online game for quite some time. However, people say they can't connect to my game. Some of them said that I had to open certain ports in my firewall. I don't know how to do this, though. I'm using a Symantec Firewall, and I don't see any option to open or close ports. Please help me with this.
EDIT: Also, what's this stuff about HostingBuddy?
Here are the two tutorials that tell you how to configure your firewall and router to allow hosting games on WA.
http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/wnguide-firewall.php
http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/wnguide-router.php
That same website also has a link to the latest version of the game without which your WormNet experience would be severely handicapped, just in case you don't yet have it.
As for HostingBuddy, it's a bot that hosts WormNet games for people who are, for whatever reason, unable to host their own game. Personally I strongly suggest configuring your firewall and router instead of relying on HB, though. Better for everyone involved.

I have allowed Worms Armageddon on my firewall, but it still won't let me host.
And why shouldn't I rely on HB? Why is it bad?
HB, is in beta and might not be always availible till its complete.
check if you have a router.

If you have a router; Forward Port 17011 TCP.
thats what the guides say, hence why i did not say that.

I do have a router, but I can't seem to get it to forward the ports. Is hosting buddy the only program that can host?

I can't seem to be able to figure out the DNS server. I have a Surecom EP-9510AX.
heh, hosting buddy will be all there is for thos that cant figure out there routers. firewall problems stop you playing altogether thus firewall problems arnt related directly to hostingbuddy.
Wohoo, I've been able to use HostingBuddy with success! When I saw it I couldn't resist to give it a try, and it worked very nice already. I guess it's now up to small things like being able to change the number of mines and teststuff etcetera... Cool to see HostingBuddy host some DM maps btw -.- GREAT WORK CS <- if I were a girl I'd french kiss you right now, fortunately I'm not, or unfortunately your not a girl, so let's forget about that ;)

Where can I find HB? It seems by the post above that you did a great job.
All the links I've found are broken.

It's offline now until I can find some time to debug that segfault. Currently it crashes occasionally and randomly when someone starts a game.
ok, and blackened, it appears as a player in the #anythinggoes channel just send a private message to it to here its instructions if you see it.
