A Funny Colour Problem

Hi all,

I recently re-installed Worms Armageddno on Windows XP after yonks. It was sleeping in my games box.

Its version one so naturally I installed the latest update from the team 17 website.

But for some reason when playing a match against the computer, after like 40 seconds into gameplay....All the colours on screen go a funny electric colour....like magenta and cyan and lime green....so I draw that round...and the colours go back to normal on the menu...then play next round and the same things happen....

Do you think I shouldve installed the patch first?

Also I have a fairly new computer with 128 MB grafix....nice sounds card...updated drivers and Direct-X 9.0c.

Help please? Am I doign sumthing wrong? :confused:

The 3.6.28.0 patch installs everything it needs to in one go, if that is the file you used then your game is patched correctly.

The colour bug is quite common, usually it is because some other program is stealing focus from the game, try disabling other programs first (don't forget anti virus or instant messengers) and see if that helps.

See if you have a file called palette.log in your game folder. Its contents should inform you of which program is stealing the palette.

wouldnt the new patch prevent the colour problem from ever occuring or do full screen programs still have this effect?

IE: was the fix only for when the game unexpectedly minimizes?

The update only restores the colours if you minimize some other way than the in-game function.

My Friend says "csrss.exe" is in his log file and it's a system process. What should he do?

its a system process or its related to canon printers. chances of something happening if it is a system process and it is affecting the game would be someone telling him hes infected with a virus or malware.

Errm, no, csrss.exe is for "Client Server Runtime Process", and it's an important part of Windows. It's hard to trace the problem if Windows is to apparently to blame :|
