View Full Version : Losing Saved Data - Please help
Hello, please can anyone help.
After playing on WWP for sometime and enter new teams, get quite far on the deathmatch and complete a few missions, I go to play the game again and it has completely lost all the saved data which is a real pain.
This has now happened 3 times in quick succession, I just wondered whether anyone would have any ideas why it loses all the data?
I certainly have a good enough PC, and way above all the spec needed for this game.
Please can someone help me out.
Thanks in advance

Are your teams getting deleted also? If not, then there probably is no proplem. Progress in missions, deathmatch, training, etc. gets saved for each individual team. You need to use the same team as you used before to continue where you left off.
Thanks for coming back to me, and the answer is yes, all the teams are being deleted aswell, there aren't even any computer teams to pick from? This includes deathmatch, missions and the multiplayer etc.
I keep creating new teams and getting far with them until I go back on and they completely disappear.
Very strange.
Have you any ideas why this is so? Thanks a lot.
I'm having exactly the same problem and it is really frustrating. I only got the game yesterday and have since played through the first 5 deathmatch games with 3 different teams.
Yes, I have lost all the default computer teams too (they disappeared with the first random deletion).
Can someone please say how to fix it?
I think the \User\Teams\wg.wwp file keeps getting deleted (AFAIK, it seems to be keeping the teams info in it). I have no idea why but am extremely frustrated.
Sorry, I had forgotten about this thread. What version of WWP are you using, and is it patched? Also, what operating system does your computer have?
Knowing these things might help spot the problem.

I'm using Windows XP to run this game on, it's the Sold Out version I bought, only a few days ago and yes, i've downloaded and run the patch aswell.
Very annoying as the problem still exsists, as the above has said, there isn't even the default computer teams to play with. I wouldn't have a clue about certain files being deleted without note but could that be the problem then?
Thanks.
I'm also using Win XP, Sold Out was the publisher (already talking to their tech support). I have installed a few patches (was never clear which version I should be using, since I'm Australian), and since done a clean install. The patches seem to make no difference. I also only bought the game a few days ago.
Copy and paste a backup of the \User\Teams\Wg.wwp file after you quit the game every time. This will ensure you only lose 1 session's worth of playing if the file does delete itself. Using this, I have made it to 'hero' level of deathmatch. If you do lose your team's data, just copy and paste the file back into \User\Teams\ and your data should be restored.
I have also noticed that the file is deleting when I exit the game. My deathmatch record would appear fine after a game, then I'd click the red 'X' a few times, quit the game, and then the file Wg.wwp would be gone.
Unfortunately, not much is known about this problem and I do not have a solution for you. It seems to be an error within the Sold Out version of WWP.
Even though it would be a bit of a pain to do; Sarge's answer is the best known way of dealing with it.
