View Full Version : a new bug in regards to resolutions ;P
load up W:A and go into options.
adjust your resolution via the big button.
now edit your team then press OK.
note that both the CUSTOM resolution box and the big box show different resolutions ;P if you exit the game and go back in then you will see that the CUSTOM resolution is what it is set to... thus this explains why sometimes we encounter the weird resolution resetting bug !

Long shot: try setting your display to 256 colors before starting WA.
oO? the bug is that a variable does not get saved when you go to edit your team, thus you have two variables different to each other that should always be the same as each other and this can explain why some people experience (after changing from 640x480 to a higher one) the game still playing in 640x480.
to solve it just adjust the games resolution then exit the options menu then re-enter it and edit your team.

Wellll... this happened in a few Wine versions (0.9.32-0.9.35) that weren't reporting 256-color display modes. WA only searches for 256-color modes so if those aren't reported, it thinks there are no valid resolutions and, uh, the options screen gets all weird. You don't see it happening anymore in those versions because I added a nasty hack to the ddraw.dll replacement that works around the problem.
When it happened in wine, the dropdown box that used to list valid resolutions and show the current one was empty.
A) this is in windows XP home
B) neither resolution boxes are blank
bug remains in 3.6.28.0.0 -.-
Got the same bug
Is there a way to edit the resolution via a cfg or something else ?
There are registry values for it somewhere under Team17SoftwareLTD called DisplayXSize and DisplayYSize, I believe. Don't know whether that'll be enough to fix your problem, but might as well try it if you can't wait for an official fix.
@_@ it appears that the value gets reset when you go to edit your team settings but fails to update the graphical representation of the current resolution. to fix it you just gotta change the resolution then exit out of the options then re-enter them for it to save the setting properly.
i tested it out a little with cybershadow ages ago and forgot to post about it here.
