View Full Version : Here's the quickest and easiest way to get All Acheivements

1. Pick a team, any team... make your own, whatever.
2. Always use that team
3. Complete all Tutorials
4. Complete all Challenges
5. Play a 4-player game on Xbox Live (unranked or ranked)
Done. By the time you complete every Challenge you should already have every acheivement but the last, 'play on Live', "incentive."
When playing the challenges, just make sure you:
A) Blow up at least one barrel each round
B) Detonate one mine each round
C) Use your sheep *every round*, just make sure you use it on a worm with 65 or less hit points.
I'd say these aren't really "Acheivements" so much as "Incentives", what a shame...

Incentives to do what? Drink green tea and wear dashing knitwear? Or are they rather incentives to play the game you just bought, even without online play?
For the first-time Worms players I'd say they are fair achievements.

Yep, pretty much, incentives to do things you'd already do anyway.
An incentive to go through a tutorial that is likely only necessary for someone who has never played Worms before and/or doesn't know how to look at the Help & Options menu.
An incentive to play online, well duh... if you have Xbox Live Gold are you just not going to play online? If you aren't, you probably don't want to play it online, so getting you to play once is rather pointless.
The acheivements in Worms can be completed in a single sitting, maybe 2 or 3 if you're not that good at the game.
Personally I would have preferred more creativity and challenge, like perhaps:
Kill 4 worms at once
Kill 3 worms with collateral damage (worm detonation, being knocked into a mine, etc)
Do a total of 200 or more damage to a single worm on one turn
Acheive 100 Ranked Match wins
etc
On the plus side, it was a nice easy extra 200g for my profile.

It depends on the player's perspective. I agree, some more challenging achievements would be good. If Team17 intentionally kept them easily-achievable because they thought the majority of players likely won't have that much previous experience I understand, but if some greater challenges were provided it would cater for the more experienced wormer, increase the skill range for progressing newbies and maybe provide some extra playability for the completists.

Exactly, I don't want nearly impossible acheivements just as much as the next person...
But I definitely think acheivements are worth more if they took some manner of skill to... well... "acheive"; a little something a player can be proud of. Like "Pacifism" in Geomtry Wars... and many of the acheivements in that game (although they are still a bit too hard often, imo).
I healthy balance is surely possible in these games, makes them worth showing off, but don't make them utterly impossible. :)

100 Ranked Match wins is impossible with the quit rate.

Do you have to use the same team every time? I've been switching teams, but I still seem to get them. Does that make it take longer?

i was under the impression that it is tied to an account, not teams. so i don't see why it would matter.

Since it's an online achievement and you're given the opportunity to select a team as you enter the lobby I'd say it doesn't matter which team you use.

Yeah, it makes sense it would be tied to the Account rather then the team. When doing the challenges I noticed cummulative totals displayed per team, which is why I included that item. Just to be "safe."

I've done all of the above and still not achieved the Gold Damage Achievement

Well you can't be far off then.
I went ahead and got precise calculations for the Challenges, looks like there is a total enemy worm hp of 10,720.
Its doubtful you'd get all of that either, as AI sometimes kills themselves, and I have no idea of knocking someone into the water counts toward your totals (as in, if you Fire Punch a worm with 100 health into the water, do you get 30 or 100?).
You also may have done better then I did. I played challenge 13, 19, and 20 several times. I'm assuming even if I lost this added to my total cumulative damage.
Another factor I hadn't realized is that I did play a handful of local games during completion of the challenges (4-5), that would factor in as well.
Considering you beat every challenge the first time, and came away with 10,000 total damage, you'd have to play 25 games where you killed a full team of 4 worms. In a four player game, that should be pretty easy and you should get more kills then that.
Good luck!
I have no idea of knocking someone into the water counts toward your totals (as in, if you Fire Punch a worm with 100 health into the water, do you get 30 or 100?).
Hmm that's exactly what I had been wondering too. Can anyone from T17 shed any light on this?
On the challenges yes I did all of them 1st time with the exception of #13 where I eventually turned to the darkside to beat, and #20.
No harm in me doing a few more games to get it as I fancy a few XBL matches :D
