View Full Version : Scheme with one-second turns

Last week I cooked up a fun new scheme where the turns are only one second long, and, to my surprise, lots of people like it. I think this replay (http://www.nanacide.com/stuff/hysteria.WAgame) adequately captures the scheme's entertaining pandemonium, which you can grab here (http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/files/Hysteria.wsc) (it plays well on any open map)

One of the interesting aspects of this scheme I think is that SD comes after only 10 seconds, but the clock doesn't tick unless a whole second has expired in a turn... so it doesn't tick unless someone fails to shoot.

Here's some more blurb (http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/scheme-hysteria.php).

Enjoy!

I dub the scheme Q'n'G, short for "Quick & Gruesome".

Run, I think you should add a poll to this thread.

You people all have it wrong - it's definitely called iBorke!!

Q'n'G loses, because the scheme is all but quick (usually 30+ minutes) and because you could call any scheme out there gruesome, at least those where the poor wormies have to suffer!

And that doesn't even make sense!

Nah.
The turns are only 1sec, so you have to act quick.
And it's much more gruesome than other schemes because your worm can die easily with 2 shots due to the 80p starting energy.

Edit:
Something with "hectic" would fit better too, I guess.

Okay, time to get picky. :p If you name a scheme "Quick & Gruesome", one would naturally expect these attributes to refer to the scheme itself. The scheme, though, is all but quick! And by your definition of "gruesome", Dabble would fit the description just as well, if not even better. *snort*

"Histeria" as miserably suggested by Wyv, is way too dramatic in my humble yet supirior personal opinion.

Hysteria wasn't even suggested by me! But never will I stop fighting for it! *epic fanfare*

It just fits too well to be abandoned!

Something with "panic" would even fit better...

It fits like a blood stained glove on O.J. Simpson !

"Bedlam" is the best name ever.

Failing that, I like Run's "http://www.nanacide.com/images/Emoticons/psyduck.gif" suggestion. That could work.

This scheme is amazing. I absolutely love it. I hope it becomes popular.

I've been creating some schemes for a while, maybe I'll release them when I've finished testing and perfecting them.

1 second turns?
How do you select a weapon then aim and shoot, all in 1 second?

It should be called "Time out",

Muzer

You select the weapon during hot-seat time

It is possible to select the grenade, set the fuse to 5 seconds, enable max bounce and doing a little aiming within one second - the rest of the aiming can be done while you're powering the shot. ;)

For the sake of completion, I'll just add that my suggestion for the scheme's name is "Rush hour".

"Rush hour".

Damn, auto win :p

That's not possible on all keyboards.
I learned Worms on a keyboard which ignored space presses if either Up or Down were pressed.

he was talking about it in general... he never mentioned that this was possible on all keyboards.

might have to re-install wa just for that one. (been planning to do that anyways)

oh, and "rush hour" = win.

Remain unshaken, Run! Pay no attention to these sinister voices in your head.

That's not possible on all keyboards.
In that case, one should better get a new keyboard. Particularly as a gamer.

I know that the scheme is called Hysteria. Here is the proof. (http://worms2d.info/Hysteria)

I discovered it on that page and I made the scheme work in WWP.

Didn't have anything to do with the fact that Run edited 3 links in his first post, all with the word hysteria in them? :)
