installation/run problem

I just put a new hard drive in my laptop and I'm trying to run WA. Everytime I try the screen goes black like it's going to load up, but then it crashes to the desktop. I'm fairly certain that I have all the necessary drivers and I put the version of DirectX that came on the disk (I have the SoldOut version).
I've never come across this problem before, even on the same computer with my old hard drive.

Download the latest patch from here:

ftp://ftp.team17.com/pub/t17/patches/pc/WA_Update-3.6.26.5_Beta.exe


And then download and install DirectX 9.0c (assuming you have XP) here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en


Then install DirectX, uninstall WA, reinstall WA, use the update, and try again (do NOT install DirectX 6 when it asks).

Have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card?

Yup, that was the problem....I thought I'd already had them installed, but when I actually took the time to check I hadn't. Thanks for your help.
