and have posts inside OD count in said postcounts, but have them be hidden from non-ODers? That would be boss titties

I don't see a point, or even a good reason to go through the trouble of doing that.
You know how many posts you have. yay. Nothing good can really come out of it.

Not going to happen.

I'm quite happy with things the way they are. Post counts and statuses only generate more work for the mods.

Huh thomas, I was actually expecting:
Not gonna happen.

Oh right, heh, screw threads. Never thought of it like that.

I suppose it helps doing an engineering degree :p

High post counts do not mean coolness. That's a lie. If two members who have been around for 5 years have the post counts: 650 and 9802 then clearly it's much more of a privilage to have the guy with the low post count reply to your thread. His posts would be rarer, and worth much more.

;)

personally I just kinda want to know how much time I have wasted on these forums, I'm sure it's been a lot

You can always use the Member Search thingy to work it out.

That doesn't include posts within OD, though. I have 989 posts outside, but I am sure that is a small fraction compared to my inside-OD posts.

It should do. However, if a non-OD person does the same search, the results will be different.

If you go into the advanced member search and sort by postcount, I'm pretty sure it includes OD posts (which is scary when you see who's up top and by how many posts...)

Everything more than 17 posts is a total waste of lifetime.

With 17 posts you could easily ask all the questions that haven't been asked before and answer someone else's unasked questions. The search function should do the rest.

I bet over 95% of the posts are spam, arguments, flamewars, spam, stupid "forum games", stupid "listings", spam, fan"art", spam and spam. :-/

That makes no sense whatsoever. I have made 513 posts in the 100% Off-Topic Thread alone. There is no way that I have only posted 476 other times. Hell, when postcounts were disabled, I was well over 700.

I don't understand.

I have done this search but I cannot see post counts in the results.

What am I missing?

What am I missing?Post Count is Greater than or Equal to...

Every time you see your name in the results, go higher.

Every time you don't, go lower.

Good ol' Trial and Error.

Mine's currently 6883, though I think that doesn't include OD and AA.

In that case I think I have 1849 including this post.

You have many posts, Paul.

Edit: Nope, looks like posting in OD doesn't affect the post count the search form refers to.

I have 5910 posts. #7 in the ranking.
Yay!

The post count only counts posts that count. Posts in OD or AA don't count to the post count.

I can't find my post count either. You look at the page source right? Well, I've scanned the whole thing and the only numbers I found where in the 50 thousands, which seems more likely to be the thread number than post ;)

Any keyword that I can search for to get me to the right line?

MtlAngelus

*sigh*
Not in the source code, using the forum advanced search.
*slaps Xinos*
Read the threads you post in already! :p

edit: actually, that's Member's list > Search Members > Advanced Search.

And if we keep making such a fuss about them, they'll eventually be removed from the search too.
