View Full Version : Problem with the menu after starting the game

Hi, after I start the game and come to the menu the game seems like it's lagging. I joined a game on LAN, and I tried typing. the typing was really slow, and by that I mean it types approx 2 letters per second, no matter how fast I typed it. the game speed becomes normal when we start a match, but it's just the menu speed that's annoying me. There are not any programs running on my computer that would do this, and it is just this game that is giving me the problem. Are there any solutions for this?

You're playing it on WinXP right? In which case no, there is no solution. I don't know the technical details, but I'm pretty sure it's unfixable unless WWP gets patched one day. (Which it won't)

Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I didn't really see a solution in that thread...except reverting to old drivers, which I would not advise doing. (Screwed up my computer when I tried)

Maybe someone could make a slowfrontendworkaround.reg like what Deadcode did for WA.

For a registry key to affect the game, the game has to read the registry key. Deadcode also added workaround code to Worms Armageddon. Those registry files just enable and disable that code.

precisely... if you read it from front to back you would come to understand that such a fix is not gonna happen... thus saving us loads of time saying it ourselves xD

its fully fixable under windows xp so long as your video card is workable with the older 6x.xx nvidia drivers...

I have the same problem on my Windows 98 computer. I simply ignore it.

Really? It works fine on my Win98 computer. A little fast if anything.

GrimOswald, it depends on your video card.

So there is no hope :/ ?
I'm running XP @ GeForce 6600 with 81.98 drivers.

93.71 are latest ones.

So there is no sense in upgrading?
Should I try to downgrade to 6x.xx series? I'm afraid that they wont be compatible with my card :/

//Edit: Oh, they should be! http://www.nvidia.pl/object/winxp_2k_66.93_pl.html <- added 6600 :D
Ill give it a try today :D

Unfortunately - both whql and beta drivers failed, but I have found a solution: WA works without any bugs! The hardest thing was to find the CD in my drawer after 6 years :D
