It's still got a few holes in it, but here's the premise: <evil person/force> is looking for <mystical items> for <evil plan> and <main character> must protect <place> from <evil person/force> by collecting all the <mystical items>
Discuss.

Aha, but there's a twist. It turns out that <evil person/force> was merely USING <main character> to collect all of the <mystical items> FOR him, so he's able to steal them at the last minute to execute the <evil plan that involves darkness and/or conquering <place>>, much to the chagrin of <main character>.

Meanwhile, <main character> is caught up in a romantic relationship with <hot girl>, whom <evil person/force> kidnaps so that <main character> is forced to give him the <mystical items>.

Also, just to take note, <hot girl> is $punky.

Yes indeed not.
For <main character> must face the dreaded <secret society>, while discovering yet more <mystical items>. The <secret society> may or may not be aligned with <evil person/force>.

But, it turns out <secret society> isn't on the side of <evil person/force>. <secret society> convinces <main character> of this, tricking <main character> into thinking that they are on the same side. Once <secret society> gets access to <mystical items>, <main character>, <hot girl> and <remainder of main character's party> are betrayed!
