what ports must i forward for both udp and tcp to host in worms 2? i got all the tcp ones and later on deleted all the udp ones to clean it up a bit... what is needed?

i forwarded only thos listed at spadgers site ;)

i notice that if i disable my firewall it lets me join games... but with it on i cant... thus either a) an update to the firewall/virus scanner conflicts with the game or im missing something... every port needed is allowed both udp/tcp in my firewall.

i assume its related to router settings tho... and the reason i deleted the udp ports is that i can only forward 20 ports... yes i can enter ranges but the maximum ports are 20... i can not exceed this even if i use ranges... this did work so i assume something listed at spadgers site requires forwarding for udp aswell and its not the range he lists.

u need both TCP and UDP forwarded

for everything? or only specific ports... reaason is... wwp and w:a dont need any ports forwarded for udp... i can host perfectly with them... and was curious if the same is for worms 2 and if it isnt then which specific ports must be forwarded for both usp and tcp.

yes, for everything u need tcp and udp. worms2 was made before routers existed for personal computers, WA & WWP were made with routers in mind.

think about it though, if u can play WA and WWP without having to allow for them in your security settings...how safe are those 2 games?

lol

eh, i dont really care about worms 2 anymore then... ill still play it but suffer from the dreaded random drop outs :) because i dont have room to forward everything for udp aswell.

(im aware of not being able to host aswell)

edit: why can i join games only with my firewall disabled... it contains every port listed for w:a, wwp and w2 for both udp/tcp and allows all ip addresses on thos ports.

as in i have excluded all the neccessary stuff so that they dont get stopped by my firewall.

I only forwarded port 47624 for TCP, and I was able to host after that. Aren't all the other ports used for outgoing connections only?

i dunno, but forwarding that port alone didnt work for me, or anyone else...you must be special...or have DMZ enabled or something.

lol, my bad, i didnt mean to say i couldnt host (altho i havnt tested it recently) but the problem is related to joining games... if my firewall is off i can join... with it on i cant... same number of things is forwarded from eons ago both for udp and tcp.... it did work but suddenly stopped... i might just delete the exclusions and start again in configuring my firewall...

can you list the ports needed for worms 2, worms armageddon and worms world party? and list wich are for both udp and tcp and wich only require tcp etc.

thanks in advance.

in my router i had to forward 17000 for udp and tcp... everything else is only forwarded for just tcp :) works like a charm.

The ports needed to be forwarded are available on my site - http://spadger.uk.ro
check your version of directX, make sure its 9.0c - that might affect you joining games.

nono i was clearing it up... it turns out all only need to be forwarded for tcp except for the 17000 one... which needs to be forwarded for both udp and tcp :)
