I just tried to host a game on WormNET. This is what happened -
The game started fine, and all was well until I was booted to the desktop with the game still running and a notice from Norton Antivirus saying that a remote system was trying to access my computer, and asking whether I should permit the connection or block it.
I figured these were the players trying to connect. Worms goes kaput and closes ; but then I find the game I hosted still on when I retry!

So now there's a game hosted by me, but I'm not in it. It times out if I try to join it.

I've never had Norton trying to tell me off like this before. I used to be able to host games fine, without a problem. But now I'm buggered unless I can get rid of it. I had even turned off autoprotect.

The only thing I can think of is that I turned the registry entry for the slow front end workaround on. I've turned it off now but the thing still happens.

Can anyone help? =(

Oh, phew. The non-existant games have gone. :)
I still can't host though

I can't remember the direct link but the information is there. Otherwise you could try:

http://vader.wurmz.net/waconfig

It's not as comprehensive but if you know anything about networking then this guide is all the information you'll need.

Put simply: WAhelp is better, mine is briefer.

Ah, I found a way around it.
I have to turn Norton's Worm Protection off for the duration of the match.
This is strange, as a) Norton is configured to let connections with Worms Multiplayer through and b) I've never needed to do this before.

I'm trying to think what the hell I could have done to make this happen.

Thanks very much for the help, much appreciated. :D

What?
And leave all your Wormies unprotected?
They can withstand an airstrike or two, but they need to be protected from viruses.
;)
