i should be playing worms4 right now, but i thought since i like the game so much, i might wanna suggest some stuff...

but since i am too lazy to read through all the previous posts, there might be some repetition to some suggestions that i said...
btw, i dont think a blowtorch or drill would add much strategy or fun to the game...in a 3d world its pretty complicated too....perhaps a better choice would be a weapon that does purely land damage to create reasonably large holes in the landscape....probably an 'antimatter weapon' or something

it started off when i started missing worms3d and not know why...
i guess i wanted these weapons/utilities back:-
-Freeze (bubble trouble is good, but only against airstrikes i guess)
-Sticky Bomb (instead of the pretty useless cluster grenade)
-Mortar (this weapon really involved use of some skill and strategy in aiming high angle lob shots to hit an enemy directly from the top)
-Homing Pigeon (just for comic relief)
-cant really think of new weapons, im fine with the few; too many new weapons will just lose the strategy part of the game...
perhaps something like a 'wind bomb'...just place it and it powerfully blows worms in a radius away, hopefully to sea

and im not sure why they'd have 2 poison weapons like Gas Cannister and Poison Arrow, although clearly they differ in how they are used....but the blast radius of the poison is pretty much the same.

-i guess what it needs is more 'negative' mystery crates...
let me try and list what i can remember
-Damage Incoming
-Team Disease
-Sabotage Inventory (i dont really think this is really bad anw)

i think thats pretty much all.... the others are just neutral ones like:-
-Global Warming
-Reposition Worm
-Bring On The Mines
-Barrel O' Laughs
-Random Detonation
-Moon Physics

vs 'positive' crates like:-
-Sick It To Them
-Medical Insurance
-Super Health
-Big Guns
-Extend Time
-Hyperactive
----------------------
so i guess adding 2 or 3 more negative mystery crates wont be that bad....adds more risk

perhaps a 'reverse control' where player's controls are reversed
or 'artillery mode' where the active worm is stuck and cannot move for that turn....
and since there's super health....why not add a a 'Curse', where the active worm reduces health all the way to 1 and loses a turn.
---------------------------
besides the weapons and stuff.... i guess the multiplayer menu has to be altered a bit...

i wonder why the option of changing maps and game styles have been removed when hosting a game. they are only chosen once and fixed afterwords while waiting for players....i suppose its because its easier and neater for players to see these running servers and join

plenty of times i have set a game with a big map hoping to have 4 players, however most of the times i'm force to run the game with only 2, without an option of changing the map, nor the game style...

and perhaps, the 'ready' 'not ready' option should be added again, as some hosts like to abuse the game by adding more worms to his team and handicapping other worms.

Hmm...
I agree with everything there, except for the Curse, the antimatter bomb, and the sticky bomb (IIRC, it wasn't that much different compared to an ordinary grenade. But I could be wrong, I don't remember too well)

Hi df095z and Plasma,

-bubble trouble adds more strategy (since you can do more with it) to the game compared to freeze
-sticky bomb pointless in my opinion...all you need to do is set the sticky mode in the wormpot
-mortar i wouldn't mind back in the game, but from what i recall in "Worms 3D" people only used it as a last resort if the bazooka ammo ran out lol
-curse way to strong..."Damage Incoming" crate is good enough (-25 and turn lost)
-for multiplayer if a person sets an advantage for themselves either beat them and laugh at them or just quit the game...the "Ready" button from "Worms 3D" was very annoying since people would just leave the computer without informing someone and that would complicate everything
-everything else seems interesting :)

Ya, I don't think he meant that Freeze should replace Bubble Trouble.
Or at least I didn't, anyway.

Hi Plasma and df095z,

Wouldn't it be pointless having both "Freeze" and "Bubble Trouble" since the bubble does all of "Freeze" plus more?

No, they're quite different.
Freeze prevents all damage to your team for one turn, and you can't attack when frozen.
Bubble Trouble protects a worm in the bubble, from all attacks except melee attacks, for a number of turns. Any worm can go in and out, regardless of team. Any worm in the bubble can still attack out of it.

Hi Plasma and df095z,

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Forgot that "Freeze" protects your whole team, good point :p. I still prefer bubble trouble since you can do more with it (as well you dont lose that precious turn).

I agree with most of what is said here. I would like the girder to be rotatable again. That was very useful.

haha, i didnt know setting wormpot on sticky would do that, then ur right, sticky bombs would be redundant

oh, the reason i didnt like bubble trouble is because most of the maps are easily accesible by skilled jumping..... and of course with jet packs

but players in a bubble trouble can also be damaged by a dynamite or any explosive weapons as long as the weapon is fully encased in the bubble and part of it is not sticking out..... you can try it and see....
also, explosive weapons will destroy the bubble trouble generator too...
i thought it was powerful since i thought only melee attacks would matter, but apparently not...
but i do agree that you can do more with the bubble trouble and not waste a turn with it.... but freeze is very useful for a desperate team with one or 2 worms with little health, and hoping that the enemy would attack someone else...

as for mortar, ppl dont really use it when they ran out of bazookas, ive played in pro games where it would do quite significant damage to hit high angle lob shots where all the clusters will hit the worm....
mortar also has a farther trajectory than the bazooka and isnt affected by wind as i recall being able to hit extremely high targets with it that a bazooka cant reach.....a mortar would be an excellent weapon against worms4 'UFO ropers' who create a girder high and far away from the map.

as for the weapon and crates suggestions i wasnt really thinking hard... anyone got cool ideas for negative mystery crates? or addition of some new weapons that might change the game play abit?

so far there's 1 (or 2) homing weapon(s), 1 zoomable weapon, 3 clusters (if u include mines), 4 'remote control' weapons, ? airstrikes, 2 poison weapons, 1 two-shots per turn weapon, 1 suicide, 4 throwable bombs, 2 static explosives, 2 trajectory weapons (bazooka, arrow), the rest are pretty unique weapons like Tail Nail, Alien Abduction, Bovine Blitz, Flood

A long range Laser superweapon might be good, but not really necessary...
i thought of poison airstrikes, but you can create that as ur team weapon...
same goes with advanced homing....
maybe a prod that switches health with a worm that you touch...

man i dont know im really feeling uncreative today...
im gonna play and somemore worms now...haha maybe whatever i feel is missing will just pop up

and cheers to all of you guys who feel that something is lacking in worms4 but dont know what

Idea for Random Crates...
"One death" - if you take crate one of your worms is quickly exploding without last speech...

That is an awesome idea! That would make getting Mystery Crates a whole lot more nerve-wracking!
Well done!

"What's happened?!"...
Team(s) of enemy(s) is(are) teleporting on another(other) place(es) - you will spend much time finding them...

"Abduction Effect"
You know, that after abduction you can to teleport in motion... If you will take this crate you will make it ,too. But it can be very good or bad from different situations...
