Longtime host of wormNAT and wormNET, maplecenter.net, is dead.

Any ideas where us wormNAT users can get new SOCKS? Hee, hee hee. Little network joke, that.

Wow, turns out people actually use my program.

WormNAT uses a hardcoded address to get the computer's external IP, which was located on maplecenter.net.
I have just updated the WormKit ZIP file on http://worms.thecybershadow.net/ with an updated SocksFinder.dll. Re-download WormKit from here (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/wormkit/wormkit.zip).

WormNAT is a good program but I can't play on this. I prefer Hamachi if you can't host too. :)

I absolutely love WormNAT. Thank you for the creation, and for the update!

My friend recently arrived in Japan, and we purchased updated versions of W:A to play against each other. From the start we encountered myriad problems, the most important being unable to join or host any game at all. At my most desperate I destroyed my computer security, resulting in a massive virus attack that required a lengthy rollback. Two further weeks of manual-reading, Japanese provider consultation, and failed experimentation (including Hamachi), and we were about to give up.

And there, at the bottom of Nanacide's troubleshooting section, was WormNAT. We installed it and gave it a run in SOCKS mode. Five minutes later we were blasting away in Holy War. And can you believe, after posting this thread, we found that the IRC connection process works just as well, if not better!

The program is extremely easy to use, and has proven to be the ONLY way for us to enjoy our favorite game of the past six years. This is one of the most active, hard-working and creative gaming communities I've ever seen, for one of the best games ever made. We would have had to give up on W:A if not for WormNAT. Heck, if not for everyone here, we would have had to give up on W:A long before coming to Japan.

So, thank you sincerely. Best wishes,

Reed
