When and how did this in-joke about team17 guzzling beer start? Just curious.

I think andrew taylor started that...
I think I started it. And demonstrated it.
Now I'm knocking on a bit and am diabetic, so I don't guzzle nearly so much :)
although it was a typo from me that started the galleon of beer thingy.

Spadge started it - when the forum was first created his user title was "Beer Guzzler"
And of course, many pictures of beer in the T17 "Beer Garden" webpage.... ;)

Bonz started spreading a joke about Team17 drinking a galleon of beer recently.

Bonz has been going on about T17's beer drinking for ages though.

I assume none of you got to see the "Beer Garden" section of the website?

Is it not there anymore then?

Is it not there anymore then?I believe they removed it when they redid the site (somewhat) recently.
Don't think you want to. They had some disturbing pictures, if I remember correctly. :p

You can still see the Beer Garden on the Internet Archive. Here, I've done the hard work (http://web.archive.org/web/20041119015009/www.team17.com/beergarden.html) for you.

I believe they removed it when they redid the site (somewhat) recently. The section probably didn't fit with the rest of the new site's professional look :p

How did you come up with that idea? :D

I feel I should point out that the above link provided by Bonz is nsfw btw.
It's also not safe for your eyes X_X

Hahah, nice gift :p
nsfw
Well, then use this link with the original disclaimer (http://web.archive.org/web/19961018175212/www.team17.com/T17/garden/birthday/warning.html).

Well, T17 deemed it safe at some point.
Edit:
Fun thing, if you click on the exit button at the disclaimer, you are redirected to a "Euromanager" game that T17 obviously were once developing.

My message doesn't seem to be any of these.
But can I be hold liable for content that I link to?
If that content comes from the forum's owners themselves?
If that content humiliates a fellow co-worker by the use of a big bosomed, half-naked lady with a whip as a birthday surprise?

I'm pretty sure your link is sexually-oriented.
I'm pretty sure your link is sexually-oriented.
The link, not my message. ;)

But the link is contained in your message, and therefore is part of it. It's an interesting theory, shame the mods probably wouldn't have any truck with it. ;)

I doubt T17 would remove links to a site they created.
That's the official stance yes, but I'm willing to assume they are reasonable people who can take a joke! ;)
reasonable people
