Is there a way to display the BIT files as graphic thumbnails in windows explorer under Windows XP?

Trouble is, that doesn't work withg me, I've tried everyting I can think of including the fix mentioned on his site...nothing :(

Maybe it only works in WIndows XP? It worked for me at least.

Try unpacking the files to your system directory and running install.bat from there.

Also, check if the following registry keys exist:
HKCR\.bit
HKCR\Worms.BIT

You can't preview neither replays/BIT maps or only replays or only BITs?

Neither. The only change is that a large white space is displayed in the details column when replays are selected.

I will try that when I get back.

And in the thumbnail view you see the normal file icons?

Yes. The thing on the left under "details".

No, the icons are still the same, the WAgame icon is still a nuclear circle, and bit is still an unkown file.

You aren't running the installer/program from a limited user account, by any chance?

Muzer, are you using the Thumbnails view? That is, as opposed to the Tiles, Icons, List, and Details views.

I'm now on my normal PC, so I'll try it...

No, still doesn't work.

In my registry, HKCR\.BIT with (default), REG_SZ, Worms.BIT

and

HKCR\Worms.BIT with (default), REG_SZ, Worms Map File
subkeys:
shellx
{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1} with (default), REG_SZ, {DEADC0DE-A7EF-4CDA-A534-17B48A75E7B0}

EDIT: Now both bits and wagames have the "unknown file" icon!

Ah, I think I know the problem. Fix HKCU\Software\Team17SoftwareLTD\ WormsArmageddon\PATH to point to the folder where you installed W:A.

I'm fresh out of ideas.

Re-install W:A, Windows, get a new computer, etc.
