View Full Version : Questions about this game...
Iv'e heard much about this game... and I have a few questions.
A) Is there a single cart multiplayer version? My best friend and I are absolute Worms junkies. Its our favorite game ever. He and I both have a DS... So yeah, I want to make I sure I could play the the fullest with just one cart.
B) What weapons are there? Once again, my friend are fanatics, and we don't care about having donkeys, old ladys or anything, we just want the good, tactical stuff.
C) How buggy *is* it? If I am going to get this, I need to know if the bugs will entirely destroy my gameplay or not. Im OK with bugs here and there, just nothing major.
D) Anything else to tell me?
P.S. I can get a copy for just $17 (US), so price isn't an issue.

From what I've gathered (I dont have the game):
A) Do you mean can you play together on one DS only? I do believer you can.
B) Team17 didn't put those super weapons into the game. They kept it with the more classical, tactical, weapons.
C) DS is supposed to be pretty buggy, but it shouldn't affect the game that much. Although you could lose a worm by a bug, it's sorta rare; and it's the worst thing that happens, that I know of.
D) The PSP game is supposed to be much better. And dont expect the game to be any better than WormsArmageddon, apparently it's not.
P.S. If price isn't an issue then you should go out and get it anyway.
OK, let me rephrase my first question...
Can you play it with 2 DS's, and only one copy of the game, using DS dowload play or something?

You only need one copy of the game. Having two copies wouldn't help since DS download play is the only network mode available.

Pfft. You must be able to play multiplayer with multiple carts. Why would they force a user with the cart to download it off a friend?
Please tell me they don't do that.
I'm still in two minds about whether or not to get it. I probably will eventually just for some closure.

A) Yes
B) 'Zook, Cluster Bomb, Uzi, Air Strike, Girder, Kami, Homer, Tele, Dynamite, Blowtorch, Dragon Ball, Prod, 'nade, Shotgun, Mine, Rope, Fire Punch, Jet Pack, Sheep, 'nana.
C) No major bugs, excepot a very rare one where you fly thriugh the land
D) Meh, I dunno

They do that. You can only join a hosted game via download play, also there are loads of options missing from download play...
Wow, that's pretty shocking.
I guess it's better than every EA game I've seen, which only supports multi-cart play. How rubbish is that?

its exactly the opposite with the psp. on psp you need two copies of the game to play wirelesly. the game sharing option, which is very similar to the single cart multiplayer option on ds, is not available with wow. of course, it is possible to play by just passing the psp arround, so it's not a huge deal.

Ditto with the DS (for the last sentance)

Is there WiFi? Just have to make sure, I'm buying this game ASAP
As I understand it, no, there is no WiFi. Only multi-cart Download play on the DS and ad-hoc (local) mode on PSP.
This is assuming that by WiFi you mean Internet play, rather than using it as a general term for wireless multiplayer.

Nope. Singlecard sownload play.
Ah, that's right.
No game sharing on PSP.
No multi-cart wireless on DS.
No WiFi or Infrastructure on DS and PSP respectively.

Sorry, but Worms: Open Warfare wont be released for PC.
I would reccomend picking up a copy of Worms Armageddon instead. It's apparently more fun and is very cheap.

Excuse me, but, as I know, if you got Windows XP, you can't play in Worms Armageddon and all other old 2D games.
I has got Windows XP...
But if there are patches for these games, say, where I can take them, please!

All 2D Worms games work in Windows XP.
There are also patches available for all of them.
Worms 2: http://w2.team17.com/main.html?page=supp&area=patc&file=1
Worms Armageddon: http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/
Worms World Party: http://wwp.team17.com/main.html?page=comm&area=_down_patc
Even the old games like Worms 1, Worms Reinforcements and Worms United work in Windows Xp for me without any problem.
(Some people need to use emulators like DOSBox though.)
This is the wrong thread btw.

Are those Russion versions released by Russobit?
http://www.russobit-m.ru/rus/games/worms2/
http://www.russobit-m.ru/rus/games/worms_arm/
http://www.russobit-m.ru/rus/games/worms_wp/
It's likely that those games are already pre-patched, then W2 and WWP could work in XP.
But the beta updates for W:A probably won't work with the Russian version.
You should try to find someone who already has those games.
