I installed the game, used the beta updater, then used another update, 3.22 I believe. Whenever I click the icon to start WA, I see a load icon for like 1 second, then the game doesn't come on. In the top left area of my screen there is a box that appears there, its invisible, but if I move anything over it, it "wallpapers" it.

^That's how it looks.
It's annoying, I just want to play the game >_>
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Engineering to captain, have you tried reinstalling?

..I've reinstalled many times, same result. Followed tutorial, same result. Tried unique combinations of installations not following the tutorial, same result.

Try updating:
- DirectX
- your video card's drivers
- your OS (Windows Update)
If you have any of these, try disabling them:
- anti-virus
- any 3rd-party applications related to the video card (tweakers etc.)
- any non-OS-integrated skinning applications like WindowBlinds
- any custom shells or shell UI extensions (virtual desktop managers, etc.)
Also try stopping all non-vital processes before trying to start W:A.

Buy the cd or get yourself a proper cd image. Yours is broken.
Not yet, evilworm, young... person. It may be a patching problem.
Read bonz's post. It's probably the most helpful so far.

I bet that i am right. ;)
Yeah, but it's best to try that first, rather than spending money on a new CD/image...

I may take you on that bet.
This may sound really stupid, but upon loading the exe file, keep clicking the mouse rapidly until you see some logos.
I doubt it'll work.
You could try the /nointro command line.
