Hi,
I have been playing Nightlong:Union City Conspiracy for the last few days. I'm having a strange problem everytime I reach a certain point in the game. In the Zoo Entrance whenever I try to go to the room at the left, the game crashes to the desktop. From the Zoo Entrance I can enter the 'Pond' and 'Bar' levels, though. I have tried reloading the game several times, rebooted the PC several times but nothing helped.
(I have a P4 2.4GHz PC running Win2000).
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this annoying problem?
Thanks!!
achatto.

Is this game made by Team17? Sorry for asking, but I'm not too sure on what games Team17 have made.

Yep - it's one of The Teamsters: http://uk.pc.ign.com/objects/010/010449.html

This helps with all your T17 uncertainties:

Thanks for that.
For some strange reason, I forgot Dream17 had a softography.
I forgot Dream17 had a softography.
It even is a Sofotgraphy+...
I did some research on the problem...looks like many people have faced the same problem and there is a 'saved' game available that basically starts from the point after the game crashes(well, its better than getting stuck forever and not able to play the game at all!)....but I have no idea where to find this saved game...anybody any idea where to find it?
Hmm. I looked into it and found this (http://forums.longestjourney.com/showpost.php?p=486&postcount=6).
It seems that there's a patch here (http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=eng&sys=pc&file=nlpatch.zip&ref=ps). I'm not sure why Team17 doesn't have it on their site.

I downloaded the zip file from that site but it looks like the zip is corrupt... :-((
and yeah....its beyond my intelligence why team17 didn't bother to have the patch on their website !!
If you use windows zip file extractor, try using Winzip, Winrar, Winace, 7-z, etc.

Hi...I was using WinZip....but the file nlpatch.zip thats getting downloaded is only 935 bytes in size...doesn't look like it contains anything inside it.WinZip is complaining that its not a valid archive.

Sometimes files get corrupted when you download them. Might be worth doing it again.

Hmmm, I've just got up to this level and it seems to crash every time :S I've tried downloading all of the patches but none of them seem to sort it out :S
EDIT: had a look around, you can download an 'after the spynx' save file here http://www.mysterymanor.net/pafiledb35/index.php?act=view&id=86

Thanks C.S!! This saved game really works! Though I have to start from the middle, but still its better than sitting at the Sphinx for the rest of ur life not able to do anything at all...
and just be careful not to try returning back to the Sphinx from here (or the game will crash again)....
cheers

I too tried the patch but don't seem to know how to find the file I'm supposed to remove and replace with the new one. Then I downloaded the save game posted above and it puts me at the fissure alright but there is no flare on the table and I can't seem to go in the cage or anywhere else. I'm stuck.
Help, please.

open Windows Explorer
Ctrl-F
enter filename in appropriate place, search.

replace file.
